nice so that would free up 10 mil year 1 ?

+ 17M from losing Smith and -9M if they get Kerrigan

Net gain would be +8M. But we'd get a stud pass rusher and a draft pick too of course.

Maybe the Chiefs have a list of approved players and they havent selected which one yet.

Can't fire the owner

I hope is a defensive player. No one on their offense interests me.

okcchief 01-30-2018 09:40 PM

I hope we get as much as possible, but either way we are moving on and not the ****ing team giving Alex 70 million. Yay!

They know most likely. The player probably hasn't been notified

I mean, we went ahead and did the deal super ****ing early even with 6 other teams reportedly having interest. We're not getting some cast off the Redskins are desperately trying to get rid of.

NJChiefsFan 01-30-2018 09:41 PM

Chiefs potentially dropped 13 spots in the 3rd round with CLE vs. WAS if that was the choice. A good player would be worth that jump.

If it ends up that CLE was willing to give a 2nd, then it's an interesting discussion. Wish we were getting a 2nd and a player, or at least a conditional 3rd, but have to wait and see who the player is.

Can we find out who the player is even when it's unofficial until March? Can't imagine it would be fair to the Redskins players to have that hanging over them for a month and a half.

Smith is out and Mahomes is in

We are now a better football team regardless of the compensation

O.city 01-30-2018 09:41 PM

If you get Kerrigan coming back, I'd imagine they'd try to do a deal with him and lower that number.

"Multiple teams - and one person labeled it as “six” - expressed some form of interest to KC about trading for QB Alex Smith, per sources. KC was listening to offers from other teams this morning." - @AdamSchefter

That player needs to be a stud

I bet we'll know tomorrow.
