It still amazes me that people eat at Olive Garden, Red Lobster, TGIF, Carrabba's and the few remaining shit chains out there. :doh!:

Were you forced there by another?

Do you really like that place?

The sales of all these restaurants are tanking as Americans are becoming more interested in quality rather than quantity.

I've eaten ONCE in my life at Olive Garden because I had to for a large surprise party for a friend. I've eaten at Red Lobster about five times when I was in my 20's because they had this great looking bartender and I only ate an appetizer. I've been to TGIF less than ten times as it was the ONLY place open that served dinner after 10 pm where I once lived.

Carrabba's isn't bad. It's not on the same level as Olive Garden and Red Lobster, both of which are on a slightly higher level than TGI Friday's and Applebee's.

I went very willingly. I happen to really like their soup-and-salad. And it's soup-and-salad, all that really matters is the dressing, and there's is pretty darn OK.

As for the food the others ate, they LOVE it. They LOVE IT better than our "real Italian" restaurants in KC. Are those places authentic? Not really...but few know what authentic Italian tastes like, and might not like it because it's not the Ragu they grew-up on. Much like Mexican and Indian food.

But I'll tell you this, you will rarely see the line waiting to get into Garozzo's or Vi's that you see most evenings and every weekend at Olive Garden, so they're doing something right.

That being said, since I grew-up half my life in Rome, if I could just get those folks from the Restaurante Abruzzi (Google "Restaurante Abruzzi Roma"), and that'd be worth a LOOOONG wait. At least it was in the 70s when I lived there.

And let's not forget why mirco-breweries are usually micro-breweries - their product tastes like ass and only people who like to seem high-brow say they're good. Not to say it's not fun to try other beers, but there's a reason they stay small...

Applebee's is shit. I will never go there again unless it's for a family event such as a birthday. **** that place, never again.

FMB I think you're going to approve of my dish tonight. You're my inspiration.

I rarely ate at places like that until I moved here and that's pretty much all we've got. I eat out less now due to it. But Carrabba's isn't bad. I also think Olive Garden has good Pasta e bundle of sticksioli soup. But their fettucine alfredo sukks...I can tell they use flour to thickin' it.

There are some nice places on the beach that aren't corporate chains though.

Outback is overrated, imo. Plus their bloomin onion puts on 5 lbs in one sitting. It's mostly grease!

I like Roadhouse more and I never heard of the other.

Whoa!!!!!!!

Of course they won't provdie the best steak, but they're Outback Special is pretty damn good. Also there Mac-A-Roo and cheese is phenomenal. I usually eat my nieces when we go. She gets pissed but I don't care because I can beat her up.

Don't disrespect the onion. If you have some, just jog the next few days and cut back. You'll be okay. Shit is awesome

Don't let me down FMB

Me loves homemade pesto. Coat some chicken in it and bake it. It comes out really moist and flavorful.

The bloomin onion has more calories than you or I need for an entire day. That's plain sick.

Outback is way over-rated. If I'm going chain restaurant for a steak, it's Texas Roadhouse all day. I don't mind that place.

No fresh seafood in Phoenix so I'll do Red Lobster occasionally when it's all you can eat shrimp. Not the best but not bad. I've had two bad meals at Carrabbas. I'll never go again.

I always see advertisements for Black Angus for some good deals but not sure on their food?

Well technically I'm not eating the whole ****ing onion by myself. It's usually 4 people eating off it when we go. The wife and I don't go by ourselves. If I'm wanting a steak I go to The Mark.

YELP that shit
