I'm not convinced its medical nincompoop's running the show. I think its more likely they hide the severity of injuries for whatever reason.

Those sumabitching players saying they are perfectly fine with a straight face need to be held accountable. How are we suppose to trust anything you say?

I understand competitive advantage. If a team has to prepare in practice for Jamal Charles but he is not playing this week, just not announced.

Is it really an advantage to try to fake out a team that Waino is pitching but in reality you plan on pitching Lynn? They already have a plan to hit every pitcher on our staff. WTF is the motive?

Also, it didn't help that Mr Mushbrain in the dugout thought it was a good idea to have Waino throw 8 billion innings two years in a row following TJ surgery.

He did the same thing with Rosenthal. Let your ace pitch 118 pitches in a 8-2 blowout so they can get a complete game. Personal goals ahead of whats good for the team?

All the local TV stations down here are reporting that the Tampa Bay front office is investigating tampering charges against the Cubs.

I'd guess it's exactly that. They know the injuries and just understate or just report best case. Maybe they have a reason but doesn't really matter other than it might mess with fans some.

Buster Olney tweeted the same thing. The only thing that they are basing it on is that as soon as he left people put the Cubs in the driver seat and they top his wish list. So basically, they have nothing to go on besides their hurt feelings that their manager left to possibly join a team that could keep all star players beyond their rookie contracts.

Just got a message on my phone saying that the Cubs are soon to hire Maddon.

Bring on the tampering, Tampa.

Condolences about OT.

He had the option to leave. I don't understand how this be tampering. Maddon should sue the rays for neglect by trading david price while the team still fighting for a playoff spot

The rumor mill down here is that the Cubs asked him if he was going to void the contract. They didn't ask him whether he was interested in the Cubs job, just asked he was going to void. But, thats just a workaround. Come on man, why did the Cubs ask him about voiding if they are not interested? No biggie to me and should be no big deal to Tampa. He was gone whether the Cubs hire him or not.

We Cardinal fans know the Cubs are coming. They have some young position talent. They have money to buy FA pitching. Excellent GM. Now they will have an excellent coach. On the other hand the Bucks and Reds had some damn good teams and we got farther in the playoffs than those teams.

I think we have 2 years left in this window. I think Yadi has 2 good years left behind the plate, Once he declines, we decline.

Tampering Bay

O.city 10-29-2014 09:36 PM

Well guys, season is officially over. Had a great NLCS season, but it might he the worst feeling 8 very ever had about the Cardinals right now. Still hurting with the loss of Oscar.

Watching guys like Sandoval get hits I kept thinking "that's supposed to be Oscar in a few years, carrying the cards to a title"

Gonna hurt for a while

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-29-2014 09:43 PM

Don't even try to move past that grief. It will take a long time just to numb yourself to it while watching a Cardinal game, and the "what if" factor will never go away.

Maybe in a few weeks we can start talking about the task at hand personnel wise. Until then, we're probably all a little baseballed out.

I'm hurting man.

I can't imagine how the players are right now.

Seeing the video and pictures from the funeral, its going to be tough but Matheny was there when Kyle died. He does speak from experience on losing a teammate and friend. He should know how to lead the team from the loss and pain.

I know he takes his lumps in terms of in game management, but in situations like this I don't think you could have a better one than mike.

I'm thinking of starting the 2015 thread early. Say around thanksgiving or so. It would be good to talk about whats next again after getting a couple of good punches to the gut the last couple of weeks. Let the initial pain subside.
