In terms of Moore's on-field skill set, NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah said he detects similarities to seven-time Pro Bowl receiver Antonio Brown.

"He's really dynamic and crisp," Jeremiah said of Moore during a conference call in late February.

Lol, here's one of those funny statistical mysteries. Somehow everyone (PFR, ESPN, etc.) has Skyy down for just one dropped pass in 2023. Guess I don't know the definition of a dropped pass. Always thought it was if a ball hit you in the hands and you . . . dropped it.

That’s exactly it. There were a lot of people who thought he was going to be good in the NFL and was a steal for KC. Clearly a lot of people were fooled and his skill set is just not translating to the NFL.

This seems like a not so subtle reference to what the Chiefs were lacking at WR last year…

I asked assistant GM Mike Borgonzi what Skyy Moore brings to Chiefs that they might have lacked at WR: "He's dependable. Did the Chiefs just totally blow their evaluation of Skyy and the assumption that he could make the leap from lower level college football to the NFL?

Borgonzi’s description from right after they drafted him is literally the exact opposite of what Skyy Moore is, 27 games into his career.

Yeah no shit, you couldn't tell from just watching that clip? You were over there calling him AB when the corner got completely flipped around from the most routine of jab steps.

I still think NFL Draft Twitter is a MASSIVE echo chamber.

Anytime you see someone jump a couple rounds among the 'consensus' when no actual football has been played, I think you can presume that it's just a lot of people repeating someone else's work.

Now as for why the Chiefs missed it - I still point to the fact that they traded down as evidence that they were never as high on him as they portrayed. This isn't a team that's going to trade back if they see someone they truly like.

It's a Speaks situation. They badly wanted a WR in the 2nd round, thought they had some wiggle, made just a very small trade down and suddenly 3 more popped off the board. They just tried to game the board and it didn't work out for them.

So they took the best WR left on their board (which should've been Doubs, really - I'd have taken Austin III if I were hell bent on WR at that spot) and proceeded to rationalize it publicly.

I don't think for a minute the Chiefs were as elated with that pick as the fanbois were. And I don't think the fanbois were independent in their analysis of him either. I think they got caught up in a wave of momentum that never truly made sense and was little more than a bunch of guys copying someone else's (bad) homework.

I figured out what the Chiefs need to go to make him productive!!!

Isolate him in space against Defensive Tackles.

Profit.

I always wondered if they did not trade the pick who they would have drafted between Pickens, Pierce and Moore. If Pickens had too many red flags and was off their board or not.

A lot was coming up about Pickens pre draft and he was coming off of injury. And if I remember right he only did the 40 because he was coming off of injury.
