KC refers to them as KC strips, not NY strips.

Actually, they are originally the "Kansas City Strip."

The "New York Strip" designation came about later to try and upsell the cut on the east coast.

In fact, I won a bet with a guy when in Vegas about this. Dinner at Ruth's Chris with my choice of wine. Fortunately, the waiter new his shit about meat and I was somewhat reserved in my wine choice. The dinner only ended up costing the dude $750.

I was making no judgment regarding which was correct, just that in KC they're called KC strips.

Started off healthy, turkey chili, but then I added two cutup hotdogs, colby jack cheese and a dollop of sour cream. After all the beer I drank, lucky my arms reached the keyboard. I feel like a fat bloated bastard, burp!

Not much time to cook these days, with all my running around and travel.

Did manage a quick baked chicken pesto ( store bought pest–so FMB can shoot me). Had to find lefover veggies so sauteed egg plant and mushrooms and then some sauteed spinach. That's it. No photo, cause rushed and memory card is in computer.

It will be chicken with basmati rice and fresh asparagus.

Fresh chicken was on sale for 58 cents/lb. We now have 20 lbs. vacuum sealed in the deep freeze.

I'm doing a lightly pan-fried cubed chicken breast in a light garlic lemon butter sauce. I've done this with shrimp before, and it's outstanding. Also very low sodium.
