I think KC had the ball for what? three minutes in the whole first half?
the safety... the muffed PR recovered... the dropped pass from Harris on 3rd down..the 3rd and 19 (due to OL penalties) and subsequent "give-up" screen pass. The 3rd down pass where Hill fell down (or got knocked down).. and the 2 minute drive fail where Pitt pinned ears back.. This team was just burning aids until late in the game.. Sucks that we don't have Brady or Rodgers to carry us.. but it's fair to wonder if even they could have. |

without a doubt Brady or Rodgers could. They've done more with less and been in much harsher spots. |

The OL is complete AIDS right now with all the injuries. But even with those injuries they shouldn’t be this damn bad. It’s embarrassing.

After chilling out over night and gathering my thoughts I have come to a reasoned conclusion.
Alex didn't have a good game, but he didn't have an abortion, either. An abortion would be 3-4 INTS. The rest of the team played like absolute shit, and even Montana or Brady can't carry their teams when it gets as bad as it did yesterday. I also know that we got lucky with Pitt. It should have been a blowout early, but Haley sabotaged his team by trying to pass the ball in the redzone when there was no reason to. The defense should not get a pass for Pittsburgh's coordinator going full reerun. All in all, we knew the team was going to lose, yet they still had a chance to win with quite a few breaks. Alex missed some passes, especially the back-breaker to a wide open Robinson in the endzone, but he isn't the reason the Chiefs lost. I recall Alex making some AMAZING plays to help this team to 5-0. He isn't the only reason they won the games, but he made pivotal plays in these games that were essential to winning. Chill the **** out, Alex isn't perfect, but he certainly isn't the reason they lost yesterday. |

AND.. Smith and Robinson/Chesson need to get out onto the field every day this week and work their shit out. |
Disappointing for sure, not really fair to place the blame on a single person. The offensive line showed the injuries, the defensive line was unable to stop the Steelers from controlling the line of scrimmage. It looked like the Chiefs were playing vanilla and safe. I think this is due to the team being 5-0, it happens in sports. Players get complacent and so do coaches. In a game the Steelers absolutely had to win, they did what was necessary to win. In my opinion, their coaches decided that they were going to force the Chiefs to beat them in the air. Considering that the Chiefs are decimated by injuries on the offensive line and receivers, this is an excellent plan. I don't understand the game plan of the defense, okay they only gave up 17 points however they never forced the Steelers to be one dimensional. I don't have an answer as to why Houston is in pass coverage, or why many Chiefs defenders tend to throw a shoulder at someone and not tackle.
The problems on this team go deeper than the players, the team simply wasn't ready to play and once they got knocked down were unable to get back up. I am ready for Andy and Alex to go somewhere else. Not because they are terrible, just because i am tired of retreads. On to the Raiders. This was one of the hardest games to watch in years. I understand that teams have bad games however this one is concerning. Especially if the Chiefs drop the next one. There are no easy games in the NFL. |
All the it's only one game stuff is true, however, what you see in the thread is FIVE YEARS of frustration. If you think this kind of response is from one game you're wrong, it's simply watching yesterday's game and wishing you could wake the team up. It's just frustration as Andy has never had a more talented team and seeing yesterday brought back memories of 500 days without a WR TD or being nearly last in YPA. Obviously Alex balled out the first few weeks so the panic sits in like seeing a girlfriend flirting with an ex boyfriend. We lash out on Alex because you've seen him play well before and want to believe in him, then see flashes of his old self so instinct takes over. We will be fine, but let's hope this is the worst we will see all year.
