His trainer looks like a damn fool

Problem with Manny is he came straight and went straight out without any angles, which got him eating jabs and counter rights all night. But the absolute worst thing I noticed was the volume of punches he was throwing. You don't throw an equal amount of shots when you're facing a guy like Mayweather- you throw at least a third more because he's WAAAAAAY more accurate than you are.

Think fighting IQ was what lost this match for Pacq. He edged Floyd with speed and explosiveness and his team simply didn't utilize it the way they should have.

I guess.
I know I'm leaving out some greats, but in the 80s-early 90s, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns, Larry Holmes, Michael Spinks, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield--these guys were well-known to even casual sports fans. Even George Foreman was interesting, and there were some decent contenders. Now? The only people who even know the champions are die-hard fans.

Those were some great days. Larry Holmes was fantastic to watch. Perfect combination of skill, speed and power.

Manny is a bitch. ****ing loser

Coach 05-02-2015 11:56 PM

This fight felt like amateur hour, really....

If boxing had any hope of gaining new fans with that fight, those people have went away for good. Not a good fight for prospective people. RIP boxing. You tried...I guess...I think. I'm sure it'll make its appearances every so often, like a past their prime geriatric band that has multiple "last hoorah tours" but for all intents and purposes it's over.

This is really a great analysis. I agree.

Went to a party. One guy was desperate to find someone that would bet him. He wanted Pacquiao. Easiest $20 ever.

Yup...didn't throw near the amount of punches neither. He was just lost in there, didn't know what to do...you could see it at about the 3rd round.

Baffling too when he'd get Floyd in the corner or up against the ropes and throw one barrage (most punches hitting Floyd's guard) but then would just let him off and come back towards the middle of the ring.
