This was a fireable offense. More of the same BS. I stick by my players move. Well your players are going home now Matheny.

Completely don't get it at all and hardly surprised he had a hard time throwing strikes with that much time off.

Apparently the worst manager in MLB was too much to overcome.

Congrats Giants.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-16-2014 09:29 PM

I've seen the Cardinals season walked off in pretty stupid fashion, like the Tony Womack squeeze fail that ended up as the game winning single in the '02 LDS, but goddamn, that was something else.

I'm sorry guys. Like Hamas said, when that ball came off the 3rd baseman's and into the SS, I looked at my wife and said "That looked downright Royal".

BigRedChief 10-16-2014 09:35 PM

Matheny: Everyone after the first couple of pitches was going why haven't you pitched him before now? I'll put him right back in there again.

Simply Red 10-16-2014 09:35 PM

sorry guys - that sucked - but I love your manager. Super cool dude :thumb:

His velocity was there. His command wasn't there. MLB players can hit straight 97 fastballs today without an issue. Especially ones over the middle of the plate.

I didn't realize that the fans didn't care for him - so to be clear - I wasn't trolling, that's simply the first time I'd heard him speak - seemed okay to me - unsure of how he manages.

There is a damn ton of luck in baseball. Just ask Nelson Cruz about catching flyballs.

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Damn.

Was hoping for a I-70 series.

50% of this thread is us bitching about how much of a stooge Matheny is.

We know you aren't trolling.

That sucks.....sorry guys. **** the Giants.

His bullpen management is horrible. He just put a pitcher who hadn't thrown in 3 weeks out there with the season on the line.

He sticks with "his guys" no matter how they perform. Alan Craig didn't just hit .200 for 4 months, he looked horrible doing it. He was going to keep running him out there no matter what. We don't even make the playoofs or win the division. Its one of "his guys".The GM had to trade him to stop the madness.

Choate is a LOOGY. He has walked 5 out of his first 8 batters. RH hit .385 against him. so what does he do last night? With the game on the line he lets him pitch to TWO RH bats.

I could go on and on.
