Big12 didn't have a representative because of bias in the committee and that's it. Just like someone else said, the SEC will get two schools in soon. Few cards fell different and the SEC does it this year, just like if a few cards fall differently and the Big12 is the one with two representatives. I'm not sure it's so much a failure as much as it's just that the 5th and 6th best teams are in the Big 12.
