You don't know this.

According to wikipedia, they had identical production budgets of $200 million.

Unless you have a source that says the marketing for TLJ was some disgusting number in HUGE excess of Rogue One, it has been by far a more successful film financially.

LMAO

Justice League had a production budget of 300 million and didn't even make 230 million domestic.

Completely different situation. Not even close.

TLJ has already TRIPLED it's production budget in domestic earnings alone.

I would say Disney is MORE than satisfied. They were probably hoping it would fall between Rogue one and TFA and it has, quite effortlessly.

Keep in mind there were extensive reshoots for The Force Awakens and even more for Rogue One.

There were not for The Last Jedi.

I would guess it was by FAR the cheapest of the three to make.

Good ****ing God. Have you read ANYTHING that I’ve posted?

Disney doesn’t receive 100% of the Box Office receipts. They received 65% the initial 4 weeks and at this point, about $377 million in the pipeline, which barely covers the production cost and marketing.

Also, do you actually believe that Disney will receive those funds immediately?

You know NOTHING about the film business.

Zero, zip, nada.

So?

That's no different than any other film.

Absolutely no point in stating that.

Actually you weaken your stance since TLJ received a higher percentage than most films.

This film made mad profits. Highest grossing film of the year. You can't ask for anything more.

You’re a mad idiot that has zero knowledge about finance, especially film finances

Why do you insist on talking out of your ass?

I've posted facts.

I do enjoy your insults though.

ROFL

So, all things considered:

TFA: 300 million budget, 2 billion earnings, 1.7 billion profit
Rogue One: 200 million budget, 1 billion earnings, 800 million profit
TLJ: 200 million budget, 1.3 billion earnings and counting, 1.1 billion profit

Marketing was roughly equal for all three of these films, I'm guessing. If anything Rogue One was marketed MORE since it wasn't a saga film.

I bet Disney is just horrified they made a billion dollars in profit, even accounting for marketing and percentage, which is a wash when compared to every other film in the market.

Good show, mouse.

But you want to compare it to the ****ing Justice League?

Your logic stinks.

Completely clueless.

You’re worse at this than your stat manipulation in the Lounge.

Once again, you’ve proven that you’re clueless moron.

I regret that I don’t take your $500 dollars but it would have been like stealing candy from a baby.

You have ZERO understanding of the film business.

Hammock Parties 01-24-2018 09:15 PM

You don't have to tap out again.

Can we look forward to you ravaging Rian's trilogy as it rockets to billion-dollar successes?

cosmo20002 01-24-2018 09:25 PM

TLJ has grossed about 30% less than TFA domestically.

This is weird--
Ep V grossed about 30% less than IV
Ep II grossed about 30% less than I
