Whatever questions there may have been about that have been definitively answered this year.

The Big 12 will be a failure until someone in a leadership position acknowledges that the one common denominator in all of the Big 12's failures is the Big 12. The conference is like a junkie that acts as if everything bad that happens to it is everyone else's fault and that everyone else needs to go more and more out of their way to help out the poor little victimized conference.

Nebraska leaves? Must be Nebraska's fault.
Colorado leaves? Must be a Colorado problem.
aTm leaves? Must be because aTm sucks.
Mizzou leaves? Must be because they're assholes.
No team in the playoff? Must be a crooked system.

When does the conference look in the mirror and say, "maybe it's me"?

RustShack 12-08-2014 10:18 PM

Lol what? They knew why those schools left and fixed it. Texas doesn't run the conference anymore, and all the schools are getting paid well now. Big12 didn't have a representative because of bias in the committee and that's it. Just like someone else said, the SEC will get two schools in soon. Obviously one of they won't be winning the conference right? So there goes the whole Big12 MUST have a championship argument. Few cards fell different and the SEC does it this year, just like if a few cards fall differently and the Big12 is the one with two representatives. Someone will get screwed every year, and it won't be the Big12 every year.

Yes, it's always been the fault of the teams leaving. None of them ever had a single legitimate gripe. Everything is and always was wonderful.

I think defenders of the Bog 12's course have gone from denial to willful ignorance. No sane person would say that the conference took the right course here. The conference leadership now acknowledges that in that they have agreed that the lack of a champion hurt them in the selection process, and that they are openly talking about expansion and we know they have at least had discussions with Cincinnati. No one, not even the conference itself, it still trying to hide their modesty behind that fig leaf that everyone is out to get the poor Big X.

The realities of the playoff system will drag the Big X into the 21st century, kicking and screaming. Despite their desire to pretend the world has not changed since 1996.

It's not for everyone. Kansas loves it because we play in a good hoops league and get to hoard all our Tier 3 hoops revenue while siphoning the football cash. But I can see why you hated it since you weren't respected by anyone.

You can't read can you? I said it was fixed after they left. I'm not sure if you actually follow this, but it looked like the Big12 was collapsing and a lot of the schools weren't making money like all the schools in the B1G or SEC. They left, things changed, and we ended up making more than the pussies who left.

I suppose that hamstringing your conference in the playoffs in favor of a couple million dollars for your school would be worth it if you were not worried about your football team ever qualifying for the playoffs. I see your point.

RustShack 12-08-2014 10:45 PM

Yeah I can see why you want to go back to that after realizing you were wrong.

Yep. Seems like everything is all better. Turns out it didn't need major surgery. A little bandaid here, some duct tape there, wrap it in bailing wire, and secure it with some chewing gum...there you go. It's good as new, and it will hold forever. Quick fix is best fix.

(Never mind those junior members over there in the corner that are still taking a partial share so that the schools who created the mess in the first place can act all hood rich. Everyone who left is just a pussy because...you know...not the Big 12's fault.)

Glad that's all taken care of. Now I can get back to crying about not getting a team in the playoffs through no fault of my own because everyone in the world is wrong but me...

Good hoops league. 1 title ever. 10 time defending champion just got beat by 32 on a neutral court.

The fact Ohio state got in over a big 12 team because they played one more game against a fcs team than tcu or Baylor makes me question the ultimate motive of the committee. Ohio st lost to a horrible team at home. Tcu lost at Baylor by 3.

TribalElder 12-08-2014 10:51 PM

Nobody cares about the big leftovers

The selection committee sure as hell doesn't

Virginia Tech went 6-6. A 6-6 team just finished fourth in the Big 12 after getting beat down in 2 out of its three out of conference games (for the second year in a row).
