I can't count the number of times the chubby friend of the girl I was actually dating convinced herself I was meant for her instead. I don't know if I just give of this 'nice guy' vibe, perhaps to impress my GF, that they mistake for flirting or what. But it's come up in at least 1/2 dozen long term [more than a few months] relationships.

Poor girls. I hope my daughters don't end up being the "fat friend" some day. As unlikely as it is, my dream as a father is for my girls to not have low self-esteem. I referred to it as "unlikely" because it seems like the majority of girls I know have self-esteem issues to a certain degree. Hell, even I do...and I'm a dude....and my wife does. I DON'T want my girls to feel that way about themselves....every day I make sure that I inform them of how beautiful they are.
