Believe the hype.

I think we all feel this way.

But the reality is muted. This dude won’t see MLB action at the earliest until 2026.

If he’s destroying the minor leagues in 2025, and Vinnie, Salvy are playing well, then Jac might make for an addition.

Most likely 2026 will be his debut year.

But keep in mind that fellow collegians Cam Smith of the Astros (Florida State) and Christian Moore of the Angels (Tennessee) look like they are going to debut in the first half of the big league season and they were taken in the same draft class.

Player development has changed, too. If a highly-touted pitcher is throwing zeros in the high minors, teams don't want to waste their bullets on meaningless games and they are promoted to the majors.

As a result, Triple-A pitching become so watered down that there's a thought process that the only way a hitter is going to learn how to hit major league pitching is to face the filth the big league hurlers are throwing these days.

Question for the minor league experts on here:
Where does Caglianone start the season? Looking at the NWA schedule for April. Any chance he's there if I see them play?

It's possible. The Royals have generally been pretty conservative with moving guys through the minors, but then again we haven't had many college guys who have an elite pedigree like Cags. We started Gordon in AA, but he was thought to be farther along than Cags. I would guess it depends how spring goes. If he keeps hitting and playing well throughout, I think they start him in AA. But if he tails off, he probably goes back to quad cities for a month or two.

If they are serious about developing him as both a hitter and pitcher, I doubt they start him in AA.

He ain't pitching. They think he's a generational power bat, that's what he'll be doing... I think he's going to be in AA.

Open in AA and fast tracked to the majors. :thumb:

India was a great low risk signing. He’s gonna do exactly what we need at the plate.

Unless I missed out on news of an contract extension, he was acquired by a trade.

In news we care about today, Jac Caglianone was walked in his only plate appearance.

In news we don't care about I guess the Royals lost both games in the double header.

Only at bat.

Started with 0-2 count.

With Ned part of the call.

It's happening. We got ourselves an Aaron Judge.

He puts the Jac in jack
