Nope, that’s not it at all.

It’s when the same dipshits play the same negative roles as they have during every other training camp and in every GDT. And these dipshits - yourself included - have themselves been consistently proven so incredibly wrong that it’s just a wonder that they keep doing it over and over again. Perpetual Chicken Little Syndrome.

I don’t love our WR room either and worry about it if Toney can’t perform. But we just won a SB last year with a very, very similar WR corps after losing the most dynamic receiver in the NFL, but now Toney tweaked a knee in the first week of training camp and he’s really concerned?!

This is the same dipshit who thought Veach should be fired. Who basically said Josh Allen had clearly made Mahomes look like a clown show.

But hey, defend him in the interest of free speech and the rest of us will continue to push back on unnecessarily stupid negative speech. You play the role we all expect you to.

So with Toney already doing Toney things, I don't think commenting on the WR situation on a football thread is too over the top.

Well, let me tell you why I'm not worried:

Because the fate of this offense doesn't rely on Toney. It's a big plus whenever he's healthy enough to go, but they'll be fine when he can't.

So many of you have written Skyy off, and Ritchie, and Rice, and your 5th guy is Watson, and that's pretty good, really, and we have a battle for the last spots with some interesting talents there, too.

You want to be CURIOUS? Yeah, I am, too. Who's going to rise? Multiple guys probably. Who? I dunno. But no ****ing way they all bust.

My money's on Moore. I bet he catches more balls than Toney this season. Ritchie had a breakout last year with Danny ****ing Dimes for ****ssake. What can he do with Mahomes slinging it?

We're going to be fine, we're going to be a top offense, and probably a top 5ish defense, too.

Only thing that I think could actually impact the offense in a significantly negative way, barring catastrophic injury of course, is if the Donovan Smith experiment doesn't work out and the Chiefs are forced to shift parts around mid season on the OL. But even then Reid is good enough he should be able to mitigate presuming Taylor is as advertised holding down RT.

I’m more worried about our tackles than our WRs at this point. I think there’s a lot of variability about how that experiment ends up and that’s kinda the engine that allows the offense/Mahomes to operate smoothly.

Yep. When Fisher went down and we had to put Erving at LT all those years ago our offense slowed down significantly. But Erving was absolutely horrendous and even injured Donovan Smith from last season wasn't close to that level of ineptitude.

If it comes down to it a bit of trial by fire at WR could actually pay dividends long term for Rice and Moore.

I'm not super worried about it because plan B was actually plan A to begin with.

If we start getting into plan C, we should probably get a little uncomfortable.

As long as the HOF tight end is on the field and Pacheco gets you 4 or 5 yards every carry the offense will be just fine we have enough at WR to make some plays with or without Toney

JohnnyHammersticks 07-23-2023 08:37 PM

We basically swapped JJSS and Mecole for Rashee Rice and Richie James, and I think after a few games we’ll all see that that’s a trade we’d make 10 out of 10 times.

Then add another year of experience for Skyy, Toney, MVS, and Watson and I don’t see how our WR room isn’t measurably better than last year. And that’s not including Ross. Or Ross II.

It's going to be multiple choice every week; and that's not a bad thing, at all.

Take away this guy, we'll beat you with this other guy. A lot of complimentary skill-sets in that mix.

It's going to be a lot of fun, but we won't really KNOW about some of these guys until we get a few games into the season.

I'm curious, and I'm excited, not worried, because I KNOW that Veach and Reid know what they're doing and if they're comfortable, hell, who am I to second guess that?

(plus I really love the Rice pick, and those of you that are fans of D.Hop should love the pick too, very similar style player.)

Yep !! But to be fair to 1/2 this board which still suffers from QB PTSD 40yrs pre 2017, they continue to forget that Mahomes can make an average to below average receiver look good if not great !!

E.g. the Dolphins bought Albert Wilson's performance!

I concur with all of your post.

I will not check back in until the pads go on. Pads separate the players from the posers IMO.

I'm really excited for this year for the offense and the defense, but especially the WRs. I know at least one of them is going to just ball out this season and surprise a bunch of people. Then I can say hahahaha Megatron, you worried for nothing. I'm really excited for Pacheco year 2 and for Kelce to continue being just the baddest dude to ever play TE.

I'm not gonna lie, before Mahomes I would have been worried like a mother****er, but I know even if none of the WRs are badasses Mahomes is still gonna get his yards and TDs.

I'm really excited to see if Chris Jones can duplicate last season and for Karlaftis to take that next step.
