The simplest explanation is usually correct.

Ergo, brokedick.

In any case who cares. 2017 is largely meaningless. Transition year.

Alex ain't it, and 2PM is being prepared for his shot

The grim reaper short, Alex is the only player left, and he's going bye bye too.

Conley breakout year confirmed

This was a bit shocking at first, but it's the right move. We need to start creating cap space to keep guys like Ford, Peters, Hill, and Jones.

Also, as somebody else already mentioned, Alex is going to put up Alex #'s regardless of who his weapons are.

So, we all agree that Reek goes for like 1,900 yards and 22 TD's this year right?

Escobar will help make up for this loss. Alex always looks for the TE's and Escobar could be a decent player this year.

Maclin seemed a little too Pro-Alex for me.

This move will hurt us in 2017 (I think), but in the end its probably the right thing to do.

DaFace 06-02-2017 10:02 PM

The amount of Alex ranting in threads like these is why I barely even try to talk Chiefs here anymore.

Red Dawg 06-02-2017 10:02 PM

The buck stops with Dorsey, has has player decision power. I remember that was said when he was hired. This may be proof of that.

The Franchise 06-02-2017 10:03 PM

According to the Kansas City Star, free agent Jeremy Maclin "looked spry" in OTA practices and ran with the first-team offense prior to his shocking Friday night release.

Cap expert Joel Corry indicated Maclin's release may have been almost entirely salary-cap related. The Chiefs' only other high-salary, cut-able veteran was Tamba Hali, but his salary is guaranteed. "They had the most cap commitments of anyone in the league for 2018 prior to the (Maclin) move," Corry said. "They’re going to have to do something else next year. They’re not in good shape, cap-wise." The Chiefs' likeliest 2018 move for cap relief is moving on from Alex Smith.
