it's a complex situation. pioli said on the radio they didn't have any firm trade offers. so they picked a guy who fits their defense. they don't have anyone i can see who is a solid fit for either DE spot and the d-line was arguably the team's biggest weakness.

i'm sure they would have liked to move down 5 spots, but it's better to get your guy even if he is a little too high.
