There is a short video update on the KC Star's website:

http://videos.kansascity.com/vmix_ho...dia?id=2724783

Basically it is no new information. Just the fact that Clark Hunt has a sitdown interview scheduled with Pioli (doesn't say when or where it will take place) and sources in Boston are saying Pioli wants control of everything (football operations and business side of the franchise).

Providing it turns out to be accurate, I will be the first in line to give Nick credit. He is literally the only person passing along news on this situation today.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer is saying that Clark and Pioli are scheduled to meet on Monday, but it may be pushed up to Saturday.

If that's accurate, it's suddenly not looking so good for ol' Nick.

Because it's totally out of the question they might meet more than once.

I just have a hard time believing that Pioli wants full business control too.

I know he wants full control over football operations. I have to believe also, if this was the case, Pioli's agent would have relayed this to Clark before even meeting.

I think he wants full football control. Why would Pioli care about the business side?

What is interesting though is that we haven't heard about any interviews for Team Pres. or CEO.

Nice try.

Scott Pioli, Lerner's original top choice for the GM position, was scheduled to be interviewed for a similar vacancy with Kansas City on Monday. That interview may be pushed up to Saturday at Pioli's request, however, so that he can make a choice between the Browns and Chiefs, the source said.
They are clearly saying that nothing between Pioli and Hunt has happened to this point. Granted, though, it's a Cleveland paper, and why would they be up-to-date on dealings between New England and Kansas City?

But if Nick whiffs on this one, especially after what he's been spreading the last few hours... ouch.

They're wrong.

So, if you had to put odds on Nick's being right, about what might they be?

Odds on Nick being right that Clark and Pioli met? 100%

DaneMcCloud 01-02-2009 10:27 PM

If Pioli is hired and his "big move" is to hire Kirk Ferentz, color me unimpressed.

And not interested.

We shall see. I've already said I'd be the first to give Nick credit if he's right, since he's been the only person on this. I shall sing his praises to the hilt if that turns out to be the case.

I'll even start a new thread to do it if you want.

Hammock Parties 01-02-2009 10:29 PM

Nah, no one will care. I'm anticipating we're going to break something anyway.

So you're saying that nick is the ONLY one to know of a meeting and report that Clark and Pioli has met? I find it hard to believe that considering Nicks record
