For Utley... I think you can do that for a guy who is a fringe top 100 prospect and some extra pieces. Something like: Orlando Calixte (he has to start hitting better at NWA for this to work) Gio/Colon (whichever one they like... guy that is close to the majors, has some upside and can give them everyday play at 2B pretty much right away) Chris Dwyer That woud be a pretty fair package, I think, and it's a better one than they received for Pence. |
BS Question because it won't happen. But if the Royals went out and acquired Stanton, signing him to a 5 year extension and building around him, what would the average attendance at the K be this summer?
I legitimately think that if you added Stanton to a contender, you're looking at 30,000 + at every home game. This town is starving for a young superstar who hits long home runs, IMO. They could market the hell out of him. I'd send them Cain, Ventura, Mondesi, and 2 other low-level prospects for Stanton. Ok, back to reality. |

Attendance doesn't matter to payroll anymore. It's all TV. And Glass signed a horrible TV extension. We're in trouble and that's why Dayton decided to go all-in the next two years. Because the 5 years after will be slash & burn cheap payrolls.
