Head to head is what rivalries are.

KU will be fine and will still schedule those games. Don't worry.

BS. Many schools biggest rivals aren't in the same conference.

Commissioner Beebe releases statement
By David Ubben
ESPN.com

After one of its members officiallly left for the Pac-10, Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe released a statement on Thursday afternoon.

The Big 12 Conference has been informed that the University of Colorado has accepted an invitation to join the Pacific-10 Conference. I continue to work through the process that was agreed upon last week by our Board of Directors to address membership issues, and are working tirelessly towards the long-term viability of the Big 12.

Beebe's come under heavy criticism throughout the realignment process for making the conference appear reactive rather than proactive, among other things. This statement won't help that. But Beebe has maintained all along that the conference preferred to remain at 12 teams, rather than expand like the Big Ten or Pac-10.

He maintains he's done all he can do to save the conference, at least in its current form. He probably has. But as of this morning, he's officially failed.

i see now that MU fans are starting to think they are going to the Big 10 again that the "MU arrogant jackass" monster is showing again.

Did I just read something somewhere about OSU to PAC-10?

Mr. Laz 06-10-2010 12:00 PM

doesn't CU going to the pac-10 mean that there is no room for Baylor?

no Baylor, no Texas if the lawmakers in Texasland have anything to do with it.

Oklahoma State Next to Jump to Pac-10

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are blazing a trail to the Pacific-10 Conference ... according to a source -- and leaving the future of the Big 12 Conference in serious jeopardy.

A source in the OK State athletic department tells TMZ Sports the move is a "done deal." The Pac-10 just made it official that Colorado is also jumping off the Big 12 ship.

We're told it's "just a matter of time" before the OK State announcement is also made. It's been rumored that Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M will also join the new super conference. Nebraska, it's widely believed, will go to the Big 10.

As for why this is all going down -- our source says "everyone wants a playoff system ... and this is the first step toward doing it."

I don't think so. They will still go. The politicians tried to intercede on Baylor's behalf but they wouldn't hold the whole thing up now over it, surely.

Supposedly Berkley was against then because they're a Baptist institution as well, I read somewhere.
