49ers are the 3rd worse defense in the league with mobile QB’s giving up 5 YPC.

They are also 22nd in red zone defense

Take it with a grain of salt but someone on Twitter said that Mike Florio is saying that the 49ers need to hurt Mahomes to win.

wachashi 01-22-2020 01:08 PM

We played 5 of the top 10 passing defenses, per DVOA regular season numbers. However, two of those games were with Matt Moore at QB.

NEW ENGLAND: 23 points / 271 passing yards

BALTIMORE: 33 points / 363 passing yards

MINNESOTA (Matt Moore at QB):26 points / 230 passing yards

CHICAGO: 26 points / 244 passing yards

GREEN BAY (Matt Moore at QB): 24 points / 249 passing yards

wow! shocking...i had no idea. but, then you have to look at the teams you played. the WEAK AFC West with weak offenses. Denver, SD, Raiders, Bears, Detroit...etc.

While the 49ers played high potent offensive teams. Rams, Seahawks, Saints, Falcons, etc.

and then went on to say it may be worth a 15 yard penalty to take a shot at Mahomes.

I’d forgotten about this, but KC and SF actually played each other in the 3rd preseason game this year. Not a lot to draw from obviously, but with it being the 3rd game there was some starters vs. starters reps.

Gonna check it out on game pass.

I’ve watched a few drives now... some things that stand out from the *exhibition* game....

1. Our OL and DL won the LOS battle. Their DL was missing Bosa at least though.

2. Their secondary looks much slower than the Chiefs receivers, with all of their normal dudes out there including Sherman. Mahomes hit like 5 quick strike curl or out routes with ease.

3. Garoppolo was on point during this game and made some great throws. They didn’t run the ball well but they did move it through the air.

Cool.

We're gonna force**** them in the face with a gaggle of big dicked mother****ers like Stone Cold Jones, Honey Badger, MVPennel, Frank "Mother****er" Clark, Reek, and the biggest carameliest dick of them all, Patrick "Excalibur" Mahomes.

Well, after looking at their play-by-play for the last six games, I can tell you that they aren't going to limit our possessions. A few notables: Against the Packers they gave GB 11 possessions. Against the Rams they gave LA 13 possessions. That's right: 13. Against the Saints they gave them 12 possessions. And Brees scored TDs on their first four possessions in a row.

And the Niners had 13 possessions against LAR, but only scored on 5 of them (34%), turned the ball over twice, punted five times, and only scored 3 TDs. Yeah, they score at about the same efficiency as TEN.

Except against better opponents they tend to give up more possessions, not less.

If they give Pat and Andy 12 possessions . . .

So tired of hearing the “defense wins championships” bullshit. This isn the same at all.

This isn’t Peyton Manning with average weapons and an old declining arm.
This isn’t statue Tom Brady who can’t extend plays without a true genius OC
This isn’t that pussy Jared Goff who froze like a bitch

This is the most talented QB ever with the best Offensive coach ever.

Prime Rodgers in 2010 is the closest thing we’ve seen to Mahomes this postseason and he raped a very good Steelers defense. AND he didn’t have near the weapons or coaching we do.

Chiefs offense will be ready. And we will score...a lot.

Maybe if they shot Quaaludes before the game.

Well, I think maxed out we score 63. With the model I’m using anyway. The mean score looks to be around 40.

Of course this is a patchwork model I made, and has been somewhat inconsistent. At least as far as the Chargers.

Anyway, I feel reasonably certain that the Niners will give us at least 10 possessions. Based on that, we score at least 3, probably 4 TDs, and a couple FGs. 27-35 points with about +/- 5 points error.

My gut says we’re going to score 40 though.

Chris Meck 01-22-2020 02:43 PM

I think it's going to be 38-17.

And it won't be as close as that.

I mean, we beat Baltimore, who was the #1 defense.

We beat Tennessee, who had the #2 defense.

Seems you've got your facts all twisted. Maybe if you could read while you shit in the street and make sexytime with other man's anals, you'd maybe know what you're talking about.

By everyone standards we have the better team. You guys have the better QB.

You mean everyone in a 20 mile radius of Santa Clara, right?

There is no one like the Chiefs right now. You can’t even begin to replicate their speed in combination with peak Mahomes.

Funny you say that because we 9er fans get ridiculed for saying the same thing.

“Houston fans said we’ve never face a team like them”
“Titans fans said we’ve never face a team like them”

And you guys mock them for saying that. Yet here you guys are...

Oops. I'll have to take what the kids call a "my bad, dawg" on that one. I'll fix it.

Literally everyone.

We have the better Oline
Better Dline
Better LB
Better RB
Better secondary

You guys have better QB and WR.

Those are facts. Not homerism.

I don’t think anyone is disputing that SF is a better version of the Titans. I just don’t think the gap between SF and TEN is nearly as large as it is between GB and KC.

We almost beat that team without Mahomes, Clark, Jones, and Fisher for goodness sake.

cripple creek 01-22-2020 02:50 PM

44-9 chiefs
