That kind of sucks, he was on the list of NT I thought the Chiefs should be looking at.

What’s the fascination around here with signing guys coming off of ACL surgery less than 9 months ago?

How about passing a physical, first?

ACL repair takes a minimum of 12 months to recover.

Yeah.....

Barkley and Duke Johnson at RB. Gordon, Coleman and Landry at WR and Njoku at TE. That's a damn good offense for a QB.

O.city 03-09-2018 03:38 PM

I’d go qb at 1 Chubb at 4 and trade back up for one of the Georgia rbs

Mother****erJones 03-09-2018 03:39 PM

Barkley at 1 and QB 4. That’s probably what they’ll do.

Mecca 03-09-2018 03:39 PM

I don't know about Nick Chubb his knee injury took away some of his explosion.

He would have more than 12 months from the injury to the start of the season right? It's not like he has to start game 1 either.

Meh I don't really care, just think young, former 1st round and high talent ceiling feels like a Veach move, could be the Ragland of the Dline.

Yep.

They can either sign Cousins to a huge, long term deal or sign McCarron to start while their #4 overall choice at QB sits.

Since the Browns have basically been shitting on themselves since the mid 80’s, I think they owe it to their fans to sign Cousins, which would give them a legit shot not only at the playoffs but at their division title, too.

Mecca 03-09-2018 03:43 PM

They'll probably sign McCarron and end up drafting Allen at 4.

Barkley is a good enough RB to at least get them a few wins.

They have a solid offensive line and now, really good perimeter weapons.

If they add Cousins and Barkley at #1 overall, they can move the #4 overall pick and likely recoup at least half of what they gave up for Landry.

Yeah but keep in mind, the Browns have drafted a metric shit ton of QB since their return and the results have been distatrous.

They owe it to their fan base to be competitive in 2018, not ask them to wait around while another QB develops.

I’d trust this front office man. They built a good one. Don’t be scared to be great. That’s my opinion. Lots of good football guys in that room. Dorsey, Wolf, etc.

That's fine and all but it doesn't mean that if they choose to select a rookie QB in the Top 5, said QB will have any success, especially early.

I’m just saying—this franchise has no business pinching pennies if Mahomes is all that they and we believe he is. NOW is the time to strike, to build up our roster to a level that will be difficult to ever match once Mahomes potentially gets paid.

I don’t see any defensive FAs who I feel comfortable paying any more than Watkins. And if Veach’s plan is to go young and fast on defense, I doubt he does either.

Was just about to post. Thanks.

Veach is going after Watkins, like it or not. I do.

pugsnotdrugs19 03-09-2018 04:36 PM

“Free agency, the draft, it all has to be a cohesive deal where you’re attacking an area in free agency because it doesn’t work in the draft because of the depth,” Veach said. “And then vice versa, where you know you can’t get this in free agency but you can get it in the draft.” - Brett Veach

Using that logic, we’re going after WR in FA. Attacking defense in the draft primarily.

He missed three games in his first two years, and had the foot problem in 2016. He was fine this year.

Some of you who bitch and moan about Watkins hurting his foot are the same dudes who will pound the table for Veach to sign Kyle Fuller to a long term deal. Like, WTF?

Does it ever occur to you that our new gunslinger QB might need a guy who can dominate in 50/50 situations down the field, or occasionally just blow the top off? Not many offenses ever get two guys like Hill and Watkins to stretch the field. And they sure as hell don’t get Kelce and Hunt to boot.

While that may be, he played a lot of those games injured and beat up. If you followed him you'd see that he was on the injury report quite frequently, it just didn't always result in missed games. He generally always has something going on, which is in fact an indictment to his ability to stay healthy.

With that said, his ability to play while beat up should be considered as well.

Taylor now will throw to new Browns’ WR Jarvis Landry.

And Buffalo back in QB market.

They could take Barkley at #1 and do whatever with the 4th overall pick if they want. If there's a QB there....someone could want to leapfrog the Broncos for a QB. Or they could just take a QB to backup Taylor if they want.

For a team that went 0-16, acquiring talent has to be the top priority.

chiefscafan 03-09-2018 05:21 PM

So before everyone starts saying we should've never let Dorsey go blah blah. The cap mess we were in last year and at the beginning of this offseason is his fault. So while it looks good now browns are gonna pay for it cap wise in couple of years.

chiefscafan 03-09-2018 05:24 PM

And yes I do think kizer is a possibility. Dorsey didn't draft him no ties to him. Veach liked him coming out so there is that factor. Reid thinks he can fix QBs so he would see it as a challenge. Fix him up flip him for a draft pick next year who knows not a bad idea.
