Even if we manage to luck out of this game, I don't even want Rosenthal on the postseason roster anymore.

Congratz guys! you all hit in the clutch and we did what we did all year, choked with runners in scoring position. one of the worst teams in the league at that and when that happens you dont win.

Yeah, I've always been a Royals fan. Living in Hillbilly Hollywood the last 5 years has turned me onto the Cards. Down here they root for the red teams. Or the winners of the choices available. Just don't tell Springfieldians that they're bandwagoners. ROFL

Puig is a top 5 hitter in the NL that just asked to pinch run instead of pinch hit in a 1 run elimination game. Mattingly and the Dodgers deserved their fate.

That's a huge deal IMO. They are experienced, and going into the LCS with confidence. I-70 part two? We're getting closer...

One thing that would be unique is the best speed team that MLB has had in a long time against the best catcher in baseball.

Yes, would be so cool and unique to play the team that is best equipped to take away our greatest strength!

Oh well, whatever. If an I-70 series is meant to be then bring it on. Right now all I care about is getting there.

I regret talking myself out of going to game 7 in 2011. I didn't have that cash, but I waffled on hocking my AR-15 at the pawn shop and driving out there. I wish I would have.

My dad went to game 6 of the '85 Series, as a Royals fan.

You can say what you want about Matheny's managing, but at least he's never benched his best player in an elimination game.

He actually did a pretty decent job this series. He pulled all his starters at the right times, and his bullpen choices were largely defensible.

I actually think that this was his finest hour for a few reasons:

1) The way that he tried to settle Rosenthal down last night shows that he knows his player pretty well

2) The way that he settled Yadi down after Gonzalez tried to act like he was born again hard.

I still can't believe Mattingly decided to have Dee Gordon, Jacob Turner, and Carl Crawford bat over Puig in that spot. My head would have exploded.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-07-2014 07:15 PM

Also, Kershaw's day shows why you can't live off of breaking balls three times through a lineup. That's a hard pitch to throw perfectly 50 times and no pitch in baseball gets hit harder than a fat breaking pitch.

No way Matheny would have done that. Matheny will stick with his players no matter what. Look at Craig this year. Hit .200 all year. Still was going to play him the rest of the year. Had to trade him to take him out of Matheny's lineup.

I too didn't notice anything particularly egregious in this series. Even the questionable decisions were defensible.

My head exploded and I don't give a shit about the Dodgers. I can't imagine what their fans are thinking and feeling. If he isn't fired for that, it's just stunning.

Nats would be pissed and want revenge. They were 3 outs from winning. 3 run lead. We come back for the win and take the series. Crushed some hope and dreams in DC.

The Dodgers wanted revenge also. I just do not like the way we match up with the Giants. Their clutch factor could be even better then ours.

You'd give the fourth spot to Wacha and hope that Gonzalez could give you an inning or two.

We'll see how it goes. Having another period of rest could certainly help.

All of them stepped up their game this year.

Lynn finally learned to control his emotions. Proved he could be a reliable starter under the glare of the post season on the road.

Lackey proved he still has the playoffs chops to excel.

Miller proved he can pitch in the playoff glare.

Wacha will be a total crapshoot as to which Wacha will show up.
