A lot of his posts contain graphic descriptions of gay sex and it's just unsettling to think there's this 80 year old out there posting about gay sex so much.

I put that thread on ignore months ago, along with all the other political stuff that got started in the lounge around the same time. It’s definitely apparent that political opinions are ok in the lounge, just as long as they align with a certain side.

It's not about the political views of who is doing the moderating, it's about the political views of who does the complaining, and how often they do it. One side is significantly more emotionally weak and that's how they compensate.

I hope the mods are wearing masks while on Chiefsplanet. Keep Us Safe!

There are lots of things that are not acted on. People post all sorts of racist garbage here, from racial slurs to just long term posting of racist takes about everything. Everyone knows that as long as they don't say the magic word nothing will be done. When you know that is the case it's understandable why people don't bother reporting it.

Can't we all just get along? ;)

scho63 10-08-2020 07:43 AM

One big Damn Conspiracy and everyone's in on it! Including the MODS

You might be an old man who yells at a cloud if you say things like:

"This place isn't close to what it used to be..."

Ok fine, sure

That would be a religious matter, which belongs in the DC Forum.

Reported.

Don't get him started on old-timey candy. He'll talk for hours about the town taffy pulls and how different cotton candy was from the crap they serve today because back then they made it out of REAL fiberglass and asbestos!

1. The kind of people that want a tightly moderated forum. They want to discuss the topic at hand without going off topic and interjecting politics. They keep football talk in the Lounge and Draft forums, keep the Entertainment talk in the Media Center and keep the political talk in the DC.

2. The kind of people that start threads of any topic, even borderline political, in the Lounge. They see everything through a political lens. They don’t care if they’re starting threads in the wrong forums, talk about politics when it’s unnecessary and unwarranted and really don’t give a shit what other people think of their behavior. The worst of the lot dare people to report them and dare the Mods to ban them.

Yep.

If it's true one side does all of the complaining on the frontend by reporting posts, it's also true the other side does all of the complaining on the backside in the gripe thread about thread boots and how it's all one sided.

One does seem more productive than the other.

It's dealt with whenever reported... the majority of that kind of stuff takes place in DC, which of course doesn't make it any more right, but it's the place that once asked for a list of racist words to be added to the rules so everyone knew just how racist they could be...

Question - why do we need moderators at all?
