Similar to that old expression that capitalism (or our system of justice, depending on the saying) is terrible, but its better than all of the alternatives.

In the world of combat sports, there's really not a better alternative than the UFC right now. In a standard $50-60 PPV card of 5-6 fights, I might have to sit through 3 or 4 crappy ones, but there's almost always 1 or 2 cool fights, and its hard to predict which ones it'll be.

there's not a boxer out there right now that cna make Floyd break character... Floyd was in control the majority of the match. As a boxing match, Floyd was exceptional with his defense and picking his punches... manny was outmatched strategically. Entertainment wise.. horrible.

The reason why boxing may seem dead is because there isn't any good heavyweights which is what makes the sport go.

Didn't they do a study that showed boxing gloves actually do more damage?

Ufc just isn't that interesting. I mean, yeah its cool seeing guy use multiple forms of martial arts.. but i guaurantee if we were to ever get two great boxers go balls to the wall.. it would out entertain any ufc match

Outlaw hugging.

Honestly, you could have gone to a bar and find a good fight with two angry drunk girls going at each other, cat fight syle, all for a measly $10 (give or take, depending on what drinks you buy).

Gayweather will run and hug. That's what he does.

My father-in-law is a big boxing fan that went away from it for obvious reasons but was hopeful for good things even though both boxers are past their prime. He's pissed he spent $100 on it. He said he's never falling for it again. He's done. Too much of a business now than it is boxing.

RobBlake 05-02-2015 11:12 PM

the sport needs more heavyweight fighters.. imagine a patty willis vs ray lewis level athletes?

Speaking of which, watching Joanna champion TKO Carla in the UFC 185 co-main was more entertaining than the "fight of the century"

Not always. Hagler/Sugar Ray/Hearns/Duran were all big draws and more recently Oscar Dela hoya.

It was, and I didn't have to pay $100 for that.
