It tells you that putting up stats against mediocre college players in a bad college football conference doesn't mean too much to NFL evaluators, yeah.

Plenty of examples of big stats QB’s in college who were not even drafted or went low in the draft.

Remember Timmy Chang? That guy had the college passing yards record for the longest time. I think he played CFL briefly but he never stepped foot in the NFL.

Putting up stats in college is pretty meaningless.

From a pure stats/efficiency perspective, Will Howard (Ohio State) had a comparable season against better competition and did a bit more with their season than Colorado and he's still on the board. :shrug:

Some of the NFL's 'evaluators' are dumb af though, and we know that.


I mean, I don't have a dog in this, so ultimately, whatever. Just observing just how ridiculous some NFL teams can be. At the very least, NYJ, NYG, CLE, PIT, TEN, LVR, NOR, and ATL all are going into the season without a QB1, and Shadeur is probably going to end up being better than whoever those teams are starting this season.

And several of the GMs/HCs of those teams probably won't survive the season starting whoever they're starting in 2025.

But all of them? Hell, even the Chiefs would have taken Shadeur by now if they thought he was a starter level NFL QB and used him as an asset.
