Congrats to Moose on a great career...and finishing the right way.

Those were fun teams!

dmahurin 03-03-2025 08:59 PM

I have bought one players jersey in my adult life. Moose in 2013. Those were some of the most fun years of baseball that I don't think I'll ever experience again.

Demonpenz 03-04-2025 04:31 AM

Is it me or are some of these guys like moose and hoz overated. People act like they hit 500 homeuns. Cain and Gordon are fine.

Why Not? 03-04-2025 05:57 AM

Yes. It’s you. Moose and Hosmer may not have had the statistics that some expected but their overall contributions to probably the most fun seasons we will ever experience make all the props they receive totally well earned.

They were the vocal leaders but I agree Cain and Gordon were the best players.

Statistically, neither Hosmer or Moose were out of this world. And they both had rather short "great" seasons. But they were ours...homegrown prospects many fans had followed and put their hopes into for years. Throw in the fact they all came up together at the same time, were extremely fan friendly AND the team had crazy good success for that 3 year stretch and it starts to make sense.

So yeah, we probably overrate them compared to how the rest of MLB would view them But that's the point of being a fan and putting your heart into a team.

I mean, we'll all remember Leo Chenal more fondly after he's retired than most people will. Help win us a few chips and we'll love you forever.

Hos and Moose are that way for me--- they won when I'd never seen us win at that level (born in 1983) so they're beloved.

Heyman wrote that royals tried to sign Adam Duvall (blech) for a million bucks but he turned us down, saying he'd only play for three million or retire.

MFer hit a buck eighty two last year. Don't threaten us with a good time.
