What CP needs is a good old fishing thread bump.
I really like watching some people fish. <iframe width="949" height="534" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/40EaSxqNXns" title="Girl Fishing | Best Video Hook Fishing | Amazing Fishing" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Just got back from WY a couple days ago, spent most of yesterday just sleeping, so this is a short batch of pics from the trip. Sorry in advance for the poor quality of most of these; just couldn't get a good one this year for whatever reason.
Small band of mustangs came down for a drink while i floated by: https://scontent.fphx1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...wg&oe=64BF4423 First rainbow of the trip https://scontent.fphx1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...dw&oe=64C0515E Nice cutt that slithered out of my hand and this was the only pic of him that came out, kinda: https://scontent.fphx1-1.fna.fbcdn.n..._Q&oe=64BF7C09 Fields around Hams Fork all pretty much look like this: https://scontent.fphx1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...dQ&oe=64BF2A0B First cutt out of the Green in 2023 https://scontent.fphx1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...Zg&oe=64C0DE55 Bows were gorging in the Fork https://scontent.fphx1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...FA&oe=64BFC5D7 CO cutt https://scontent.fphx1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...iQ&oe=64C0294B My friend Steve taking a moment to fish in front of camp https://scontent.fphx1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...HQ&oe=64BF0252 Camo bow https://scontent.fphx1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...Mw&oe=64C084C7 Really pretty cutt https://scontent.fphx1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...fw&oe=64C08227 Just liked the bronzy sides on this one https://scontent.fphx1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...TQ&oe=64C01006 Whale tail https://scontent.fphx1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...4Q&oe=64BF0C8F https://scontent.fphx1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...VQ&oe=64C05F33 Stangs https://scontent.fphx1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...jQ&oe=64BF2EA4 This pic was so disappointing. 22+ inch rainbow with beautiful silvery sides, and this was the only pic in focus: https://scontent.fphx1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...Fw&oe=64C05EE9 |

Where in Wyoming?

Green River below Fontenelle Dam in WY. Was a down year, in spite of the great snowpack over the winter. Didn't help that it was crowded as hell. I may have to find a new river next year. |

Flaming is great, and more picturesque. C section was a our Plan B this year. Might be our Plan A in 2024. |

That's an under rated quality in women. |
I spent the last week in New Mexico fishing the Rio Grande in the gorge just north of Taos.
I had never fished this river before, so I took a guide the first day and did it on my own for the next 3. It was a beautiful, remote area and it was a hell of a hike - 700 feet down to the gorge bottom. The hike in wasn't so bad, but the hike out after a day of crawling over car sized boulders was a bit tough. At the trailhead - can't even see the river here: https://i.imgur.com/zh2Ha6q.jpg The river is finally in sight: https://i.imgur.com/IqCVCkI.jpg A pretty brown: https://i.imgur.com/UgstHwz.jpg A 19 incher, but he was so long and skinny! This guy would be a monster if he could put on some weight: https://i.imgur.com/lGVYard.jpg A beautiful, wild rainbow. Look at those pretty, sharp fins and nice pointy nose. This is so much better than those nasty stocked hatchery fish: https://i.imgur.com/jZJoxe3.jpg Catch of the weekend - a monster brown! https://i.imgur.com/R2lDfMP.jpg My guide wanted a picture of the fish too! He said it was the biggest fish any of his clients had taken all year. Of course, his photo turned out way better than mine: https://i.imgur.com/luHvZkT.jpg |
Those hikes of those canyons are not fun.
Beautiful colors on that brown. Looks pretty thick as well. Guessing about 18-19 inches? Assuming both of you have close to normal sized hands/fingers. What ware they biting on? Caddis? |
Can’t defend the slant. That was just poor.,
*** yea, wrong thread. |

Most of the fish, including this, were caught on a size 18 micro may bead head drifted under a heavy poundmeister (a local pattern if a crane fly larvae). Speaking of colors, I lost a very large cutthroat when it wrapped me around a rock. I saw it roll once a d it was such a beautiful red color...I'm really upset I lost that fish. |
