Dont worry, this story implies hes firmly entrenched in the bullpen, so he will still get some chances to blow games.

I hope hitting south of the mendoza line makes his cute clubhouse act look stale.

Whatever arm strength frenchy brings to RF is totally negated by his shitty speed. And his laziness. He had a shitty break on that liner and jogged over to it.

What was he throwing? I hope Shields was maybe working on something and not necessarily worried about what the results of the pitch was.

Not hard. It's spring training. Nothing, good or bad can be pulled too much from it. Especially when they're not fighting for a starting spot.

stonedstooge 03-22-2013 04:15 PM

Nice defense Gordon, and block of the plate by Salvy

Royals score big today

Shogun 03-22-2013 06:03 PM

This was a good game for us, IMO. Yeah yeah, our Ace and opening day starter sputtered out early, its gonna happen with monster lineups like the Angels sometimes. But I really like how our team responded to being in the hole. Big bats came to play today, spring training or not. And I think that it probably helped their psyche knowing they can do that sort of thing and hang in there with the best of them. JIMO

Gawd if we could rely on the offense this year in big scoring games, JIMP

So should we, or should we not be concerned about Shields' start? Hasn't he had to bad outings in a row?

Could not give a **** less what proven pitchers do in Spring Training, and this is coming from someone who wishes we never traded for Shields.

As long as he's healthy, he'll be just fine.

It's spring training. He could be working on something, he could be trying something new, etc.

It's not like his velocity is noticeably down or he's hurt, etc.

He also probably isn't using any of the pitch sequences he'll use in real games, since he will pitch real games that matter against these guys soon.

I have a big head, too. However they can be curved properly. Those pre-bent college frat boy hats don't fit right on my noggin at all.

Shogun 03-22-2013 11:10 PM

One of the only hats that fit my head are the Nike ones with the Elastic band in them that are one size fit all. Thus why I own a shitload of stocking caps/beanies

Technically he is now called Giancarlo Stanton, so that is maybe why you didn't recognize his name. But he is a monster 6'5 250 RF with 100 HR's/ 240 RBI's in his first two years of Major league action, 23 Years Old. Also, broke Miami's scoreboard with a HR last year.

This is the Royals hat I have and I love it....fits well (flex-fitted), it's mesh and has the perfect bill curve. One of the only flex-flitted hats that looks good on my head.

If you see a guy in a powder blue Wil Myers USA Futures Game shirt and a red, white and blue Negros League hat, say hey.

I was out at Tempe Diablo Stadium yesterday and I thought Cain looked gimpy as a mofo. I haven't heard anything about it so maybe he always walks like he's 9 months pregnant.

I owned a sporting apparel store at Bannister Mall for 6 years in the 90's. I carried blue Chiefs hats with the arrowhead in blue, I sold probably 500 of them in the 2 years I carried them.

Understood. But that's our opening day starter, and he got shelled. I know it doesn't mean anything, and he might have been working on something, but I'm just annoyed. I would've enjoyed at least one dominant inning. Just one.
