The Chiefs were wanting a 2nd and got a 3rd with a player. I'm honestly not expecting it to be anything more than a "good" player.

I was predicting they get a 3rd for Alex, but I really dont care who they get... he's ****ing gone!

A third? Disappointed

If the starting point was a 2nd rounder, it's gotta be a really big name player. Especially if they jumped the Browns.

This. I’m ecstatic.

Best off season ever.

The deal cannot be completed until the new league year begins March 14. It is expected to be for a second-round pick and possibly more, according to a source.

This draft is deeper than it is talented so that might be why they wanted a player on their roster and just took the 3rd.

3rd rounder and a player

I didn't think they would get that much for him and I thought the Chiefs will have to cut him. What looked at another way is contract is friendly compared to other good quarterbacks in the league. Seems like a good deal depending on the player.

I prefer the term fecal matter.

If they dropped to a 3rd rounder, it would probably mean it's a pretty good player coming back.

Settling for a 3rd would’ve disappointing.

Skins gave him 70 mil guaranteed? Jesus.

Your NFL acumen is above reproach

The Redskins aren't trading Ryan Kerrigan, not for Alex Smith. Norman could happen.

RippedmyFlesh 01-30-2018 09:28 PM

A 3rd round pick? Bet cleveland was offering more. We may have got fleeced to accommodate smith. Screwed us 1 more time out the door.

shakesthecat 01-30-2018 09:29 PM

Not sexy, but I'd take Brandon Sherff in return.
