Given Spygate 2.0 and Spags' proven success against Belicheat, it's looking like a pretty good hire. Of course a few weeks ago there was a lot of despair about the defense after the Titans game. Guess time will tell over the long haul. Hopefully they can get some better linebackers in the draft.

He's not a head coach here. He's a defensive coordinator. And through his DC record outside of NY looks pretty pitiful, he's a clear ****ing upgrade over Sutton. I think coaches evolve and a lot of it depends on support, both from the rest of the coaching staff as well as the players. Spagnuolo CAN field a great defense. He's had trouble more often than not, but he's demonstrated before that he can do it, and it really wasn't all that long ago when he did it. In the meantime, what we have to judge him is that YES the defense in KC is unequivocally improved from last year, and the scheme/system appears to be a better fit moving forward in terms of finding the talent to play within the scheme and make it work. The LBs are FAR less of a liability this year, and the defensive line is drastically improved. I think it would have been a lot harder to keep Sutton and magically procure a starting NT, new ILBs, new safeties, and new CBs who didn't suck in his shitty 3-4 that Tony Romo could call out and predict doom upon in the goddamn AFC Championship. |

So while I am as excited as anyone here I'm cautious because we all know the history of this franchise in the postseason. Lets see how the rest of the season plays out. So far so good but I've seen this story before. Hopefully the ending is different this time. |

What a difference a year makes
Saw these tweets randomly on twitter.

There is zero accountability on that side of the football. Zero. Since the Denver game they are 12th in the league in run defense. |

Tell me more about sweet Bob, Billay...

How about the games with Pennel and without him?
They need to give the guy a 2-3 year extension. |
