I've been married since you were in grade school. I've been with her in a monogamous relationship since 1994. We have a great relationship, she's still hot and is a great chick.
That being said, they're an emotional species and even with our history together, (over 1/2 our lifetime) I still can't figure her out sometimes. Shit comes outta left field sometimes that boggles my mind.
My advice? Roll with the punches, duck and cover and hang tight. Her loopy moments will eventually get dialed down.
Shit happens but if you can show an ability to ignore or cope with the bat-shit crazy, she'll be very grateful and think that you're a cool dude worth some extra effort.

Let me qualify that last statement since I was have-asleep...

Lumpy is different than most. She is usually pretty even-keeled. We all have quirks and get moody. I got lucky, she pretty much let's me do whatever without bitching, (especially during hunting season).
We pretty much grew up together so we know each-other very well.

Here's an example.
My job has been causing me a lot of stress lately and I have suddenly had issues with anxiety and insomnia. The only way I can really relax anymore is to go down to the man-cave and just chill. When I need to do that, she never bitches about it and takes care of the kid until I have had some time to relax.
Also,
Every Saturday during hunting season I leave for the day and she has never really complained once about it. I know a lot of dudes whose wives would throw a shit-fit and threaten divorce if they tried to do that.
There's always the midget and pony to keep her company, though.

Ever have one of those days at work where your brain just gets full? Not sure how else to explain it. Just saturated to where you want to put a sign on your desk that says "NO MORE INPUT". Two more hours. And then what do I get to go do after work? I get to sit in class for four hours and take in some more. Oh, and I have two tests tonight. Ugh. /whine
