ChiefsPlanet - Chiefs Chiefs hire Steve Spagnuolo as new defensive coordinator

Remember watching the Ravens give our offense fits last year at Arrowhead and envying their aggressive approach. Was hoping Spags would do the same thing they did and goddamn have they.

Love the ballsy blitz packages. Love that they are now trying to dictate what the offense does instead of sitting back and reacting.

We keep stopping the run and play like this, we are going to fist the Patriots.

Thinking about this again last night. This defense looks exactly like the Ravens and I love it.

I just heard that we blitzed on first down 4X LMAO

Steve Spagnuolo is a guy that had a couple of good defenses a decade ago when he had DE's like Strahan (HOF'er) Tuck, Osi Umenyiora, and JPP.

In 2007, his three best DE's combined for over 300 career sacks.
In 2011, his three best DE's combined for over 210 career sacks.

No shit he had good defenses back then. Christ, Greg Robinson could have coordinated a great unit with that talent.

The best thing you can say about him is that when he had the best DL of the last generation he didn't **** it up, but that's damning with faint praise.

Even in 2016 he had two good-great ends and three All-Pro DBs. No one could **** that up.

He’s made Anthony ****ing Hitchens into competent, he’s made a special teams player from Dallas be our best LB, he’s gotten the most out of Ragland and Sorenson, our pass defense is a complete 180 from last year, we lost Houston and Ford last year and our line has gotten even better. Spags is everything we have ever wanted. I have full faith in this defense to get a stop when we need one.
