You're missing the real issue here: the state (my state no less since I'm from here) is or at least was heavily conservative about the gay issue. Undeniably. So was Mizzou. Until one football player came out. It's such a total joke watching the standing O.

You're lying.

26 pages. Just that one term. I could pull up thousands & thousands of posts if we expand the search to "gay U" or anything derogatory about homosexuals.

You're reaching here, PB. First of all you're implying that Lawrence is some gay haven that has absolutely no mouthy or stupid 19yo douchebags that say stupid things. False. You're also assuming that Columbia is ultra conservative, which is also false. It's nothing but an assumption...and an incorrect one at that. Don't make blanket statements about things you know nothing about in order to try to make a point.

Also, who the f%ck cares??? Oh...poor KU fan. You must feel so insulted that a bunch of people on a MESSAGE BOARD write derogatory things about their rival school. It'd be like a Mizzou fan calling all KU people meanies for using the slang "Meth U" and MethZou. Get over it.

Prison Bitch came of age at gay friendly KU. Is that so hard to believe?

No, your circle of friends/family/contacts are undeniably heavily conservative on the gay issue, which is a shock to absolutely nobody.

And do you want the TRUE reason as to why Mizzou fans call Lawrence "Gay U"? Because **** Kansas, that's why. It's the same vein as to why KU fans heckle Mizzou fans - because in their eyes, **** Missouri.

But you knew all this already. You're just taking the story of the moment and running with it to suit your needs. Unfortunately, it's just not working out the way you had hoped it would for you.

I don't think gay slurs are uncommon at any school whether that was your time, my time or now. The difference is that awareness of those terms being offensive has increased and the acceptance of the terms have decreased.

So when a university and alumni support a student it's a joke but if they would bash him and boo him then you would bitch and moan about how horrible the school is because they can't support a student.

So please explain how the students alumni and fans should of handled that to satisfy you.

I don't care if a person is gay or straight I don't support gay marriage but I'm not against it..If 2 guys or 2 girls want to get married fine whatever..Their personal decisions don't affect me..but at the same time I'm not so close minded and ignorant that I can't tell how big it is for a athlete to come out and become the first openly gay player in a professional sport

So to bitch about a university and alumni supporting a student is pathetic

The same morons that thought 'Gay U' or 'Gayhawks' were clever digs before the Sam announcement will continue to use those phrases.

And it's got absolutely nothing to do with their hatred for gays or lack of support for Sam.

It's because that's the limit of their wit. "Gay! Got you good ****er!".

See Bitch, even KU fan Pablo gets it.

And for the record, I always preferred "Beaker" to "Gayhawk"; it's just too easy to use "Gayhawk". :D

"I had Kansas come in last Friday, before the snow hit. They were looking at Brenner Clemons and I looked over at" running backs coach "Reggie" Mitchell "and said, 'Why haven't you guys offered Ryan Williams?' And he said, 'Who?' I put his highlight tape on and he goes, 'Oh my Lord. How did we miss this guy?' I said, 'You know what? You're getting real close to truly missing him because I'm hearing rumors from the kid that he's ready to commit.' Then last Saturday" Williams "calls me and tells me he's going to commit today.

Nice try, but that is not what you posted...you posted that the SEC was crying for the rule change, and posted a link to an article that stated clearly that was not the case. You then tried to back up your lie by switching to Saban.

You hypocrisy is shining nice and bright...keep it up.

I'll agree it's that way for some. But for others, the issue is pretty clearly lined out:

homophobic when they came up with that saying that it pushed them to be so over the top in asking gays to come there now days. seriously, find someone who has taken a campus tour and ask them how much the school pushes the gay community on their campus.

Saban is the SEC. Just like Bevo is the Big 12.

If it had been Aqib Talib coming out, we all know how Mizzou fans would've reacted.

So that explains your beaker fandom. Pathetic that chants like that get so under your skin.
