And if they are wrong and they screwed the roll of the dice we just wasted a 1st round pick on a guy who could get hurt on the first play of the season.

I wonder if Connelly was there if they still make this pick.

Very disappointing. It could have certainly put the finishing touches on whether or not the pick will pan out.

Inaccurate oversimplification of how the draft transpired. Having a pro bowl left tackle on a five-year rookie deal will be part of the Chiefs’ future success. :)

We have wasted 1 round picks before and still won SB

Good question. My first instinct is to say I bet not. But who knows? I'm just not in a good place right now because of this pic. Very disappointing.

This will be a great thread to bump in two years...

Yep if he doesn't get right from that injury we have failed multiple first round picks. FAU, CEH we have gotten some good ones though

Kind of a letdown but they must be desperate. I guess cross your fingers for good health in 2026.

Just have a bad feeling this is another stab in the dark at another gimp. We didn't learn our lesson it just feels.

No doubt Veach had the chance to move up a few picks and take him. He wanted Simmons, no doubt.

It's an incredible stretch to even have hope this guy works out.

The chances this guy even returns to his collegiate form is on par with a 7th round pick hitting.

This was the worst possible pick KC could have made at this point in the draft and Veach just managed to do it.

I can't even support it. Not even 0.01%.

Couch-Potato 04-24-2025 09:59 PM

NOW let’s trade up for Henderson!

Was Trey Smith an injury risk or just an attitude case, coming out of Tennessee?...He lasted until the 6th and has worked out fine. Not really the same since Simmons is a fallen late first, but I will give the benefit of the doubt to the powers that be, for now.

Trey Smith was different, like something wrong with one of his organs or something. But he was good.

Unfortunately I am still not comforted that we paid 30Mm for Moore only to take an athlete that is recovering from an injury like Simmons has.

An insurance policy, and given Simmons' injury risk, a prudent one.

And it's $15m PER, over two years. That's not outrageous at all.

I don't know who the ABC guy is on the second-from-right seat, but he's added absolutely no value to the broadcast. He doesn't commit on anything and offers only platitudes.

Last night, one of the other guys asked him whether teams should emphasize ball skills or coverage or run support in a defensive back, and he said, "All three." Great insight there, Norman Einstein.

Womble 04-25-2025 05:05 PM

The GOAT quarterback Patrick Mahomes II was drafted in 2017 Goodell you stuttering waste of skin.

Rain Man 04-25-2025 05:06 PM

Are we sure that Tyler Shough is 26? I think he could be 40 based on that camera view. This might be a Manute Bol situation.

KC_Lee 04-25-2025 05:07 PM

Good to see that we get to celebrate the 2000 draft class and that legendary Chiefs' pick of Sylvester Morris.
