Unless you can snag a really good player, I’m not giving that Rams 2nd rounder up. Having a ton of picks next season will be beneficial. I’m curious what Seattle would want for Bobby Wagner

There was a rumor that the Raiders might trade for him, which would suck. It also mentioned their 2nd round pick being the compensation though so not that bad.

Seattle is building around KJ Wright and Wagner so they’re not letting those guys go

But then he’s going to hold out for $18 million per.

That doesn’t seem like a Clark Hunt move.

OBJ isn’t happening. It’d be cool, at least until it was time to pay up, but it’s just not realistic.

The appealing thing about Watkins is he doesn't need a vast amount of targets every season In order to get a good amount of TD's. So he could potentially be targeted much less than Kelce and Hill and still have a big impact on the offense. Something tells me though that Mahomes Is simply a guy who looks for opportunities rather than simply target a favorite. In the Denver game he went to Robinsons a whole bunch of times, he used Harris a fair few times, involved Chesson once or twice and of course went to Wilson loads of times too. So I think he will spread the love.

I guarantee a 2nd is all you'd have to give up for Odell. He needs a new deal next year.

No one giving up more than that. Hell it may not even take that much.

There's as much chance of Pitt trading Brown, than there Is of NY letting go of Odell. That guy is a stud and a worldwide name. They aren't that stupid.

So? He's is their superstar, he gives them hope of winning another SB, so suggesting that he could be traded is plain silly to me.

He's a big play guy and needs a big play QB. He is fragile yeah but he's also the same age as Tyreek.

LOL are you really comparing Odell to Peters? :D

Peters was great for this team, but he's not a worldwide name and finding a quality CB is much easier than finding someone like Odell.

So chiefs have a visit with Wilkerson. On a one year prove it deal I do it

Bowles and Reid are close so this is a bit surprising, especially considering that Wilkerson was fined for being tardy to meetings and was in general, a pain in the ass.

Imagine being OBJ and moving from NYC to KC.

Like, standing in the middle of a field at 200th and Nall, just screaming into the ether. There's no way a guy like that is moving to KC to keep his nose to the grindstone and win a championship. I freaking love OBJ and he's prime time as can be but seriously put down the pipe if you think that is happening.

Sutton is telling Veach who he wants. Sutton must think he can get Wilkerson to play hard.

Coached him for 2 years

staylor26 03-08-2018 06:16 PM

If we sign him we should probably cut Bailey for the extra cap space.

I would love to see what Watkins does with a QB like Mahomes. As stated earlier in this thread by others... I feel like Watkins hasn't been able to get in a system that fits him well. Buffalo with their lack of good QB play and didn't have a lot of time with a young Goff.

pugsnotdrugs19 03-08-2018 07:10 PM

This Wilkerson meeting goes along with my thinking on what Veach’s plan may be.

I think he wants to sign Watkins and Wilkerson, acquire a QB and maybe another defender, and draft defense thoroughly. Profit.

Without knowing who the Chiefs acquire this offseason, I'd say that 10-6 would be a Festivus Miracle.

Nothing in particular, it’s just how I feel things are going to shake out.

1) The offense isn’t losing anyone really outside of Smith and maybe Wilson. I think we upgrade Wilson anyways.

2) The defense can’t get much worse. Sure, we traded Peters, but the secondary as a whole is going to be better I believe. We’re going to draft and sign contributors to the front 7 of course. We started Zombo for most of the season at OLB, which tells you just how much room there is to improve there.

I just have a lot of faith in Veach right now. He’s quite calculated. He has a vision and I think it involves loading up with his QB on a rookie contract for the next 3 years.

Even If we get Watkins, I can see them drafting TE and a WR late tbh. Especially If we lose Wilson.

I’m with you on Zombo. He has just been miscast as a starter too often because of our brokedick right side (Ford/Hali), and a young padawan getting his ears wet in Kpassagnon. As a depth/special teams player Zombo is solid. Respected by coaches and teammates alike.

pugsnotdrugs19 03-08-2018 09:26 PM

Just my POV—but if a guy can’t be trusted to play meaningful offensive/defensive snaps when you need him, you need to replace him. Especially when there is $1M in cap savings to be had.

My man. This is all good and everything, but “pretty decent” is how we’ve managed to shit our pants in meaningful games in the past several years. “Pretty decent” is the Kansas City Chiefs slogan since 1969. How about we say **** “pretty decent” and shoot for depth that can actually contribute when called upon instead?
