****ing love RE games. |
Playing Sekiro tonight, I just don't have the patience for these games anymore, and this game isn't a Dark Souls game. With Dark Souls games you could learn patterns, this game is so random with enemy attacks even down to the peons that it's beyond frustrating. I'd rather go play Dark Souls or Bloodborne again, I might buy it again on a sale down the road. I just don't have the patience to get gud all over again but kudos to From Software for putting out something different I suppose.

Soooooo PC gaming and building a rig is something I've wanted to do for a while and have dabbled in here and there but it's been forever since I seriously looked at...I'm pretty clueless now when it comes to parts, costs, etc.
What's the range I'd be looking at for building a rig nowadays that is pretty modest....I mean I'm not looking for melt your face everything as I know that would be 4th thousands of dollars. I'm looking for more than say my XB1X or PS4 Pro...that's the baseline. The games and Steam ecosystem is more what I'm interested in...sure I want everything to look and run great but it's not 100% what's most important. I'm kinda just clueless when it comes to this lol.... |

I loved Kid Icarus as a kid playing the original on SNES. But the developer has ruled out a new Kid Icarus game at this point. Shame, because that would be fun. I enjoyed playing the characters in Super Smash Bros. Made me wish for a new Kid Icarus game. Maybe somebody else will take it up? |
FYI... there's a new emulator out called CEMU, which allows you to play WiiU games via Win10 PC and cheap game controller.
It's very new, and requires an understanding of emulators and an understanding of how to configure the settings to tweak your system. It also requires you to know where to find the WiiU games themselves, along with the TitleID keys that go along with the game, and the WiiU system in general. Which we can't legally post here, FYI. But you're welcome to PM me and I might know where to direct you. That said.... I bought the USB game controller above, and rumor has it you can play Zelda: Breath of the Wild on your PC. Along with Mario Kart 8, New Super Mario Bros. U, Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country - Tropical Freeze, Mario Party 10, Super Smash Bros. , Zelda - Wind Waker HD, Zelda - Twilight Princess, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Yoshi's Woolly World, etc, etc. Rumor has it that once you get the settings correct for each of the above games, which takes a great deal of tweaking and testing, and graphics packs to be downloaded and installed, and config files created, that it's a ****ing absolute blast to play. If you have bluetooth on your PC, you can connect other USB/bluetooth controllers or existing Wiimotes and play (2-4) player WiiU games. As long as Win10 acknowledges the controller, you can reprogram the keys to whatever you want in the emulator. It's pretty complicated. But I can't tell you how much fun I'm having playing with it. That said, I also have emulators/info* for MAME/NES/SNES/SEGA Genesis/N64/PSX/GBA/PSP/Wii/etc. If you're cool.... |

I just can't get into those games. I tried the last Dark Souls and gave up without beating the first boss. It just wasn't fun.

I liked bloodborne but that's about it. |

The problem with Sekiro is that From Software switches up the attack cadences so you have to learn them all over again. You might be able to use your Dark Souls dodging powers for a bit but it'll catch up to you so expect to die alot unless you look up videos to cheat every fight.
|
I don't mind difficult games, but I really dislike games that have rhythmic combos/ attack cadences that are really finicky. If I have to respond to block or dodge an attack, fine. I just really hate having to memorize a bunch of tap combos that usually don't work if you didn't do it exactly right and have nothing logically to do with what's actually going on in the fight.

Wii sensor bar for pc works well, in Dolphin not sure about other emu's ;) |
I've been playing Horizon: Zero Dawn. It's a beautiful game with an interesting premise, but it hasn't quite gripped me like God of War or AC: Origins.
I think my major issue is these ****ing machines are annoyingly difficult to kill. It's like they're indestructible. I'm fairly certain there's something about the weapon system that I'm not understanding. I recently started paying more attention to using the Focus to see certain machine's weaknesses and using weapon modifications to match those weaknesses, but are there any *overall* weapon damage upgrades? I feel like I should be able to increase the damage efficiency of my spear, for instance. I've been using this same ****ing spear for the entire game. I'm probably more than halfway through the game and it still causes the same amount of damage as when I first started. |

Word. It’s frustrating having to learn and remember each different machine’s strengths and weaknesses but actually pretty realistic, I suppose. The Thunderjaw is a real bitch but being able to use that disc cannon it drops helps a lot. The real problems for me have been the Glinthawks, Snapnaws and those ****ing whore Rockbreakers. I went to a corrupted zone with just two Rockbreakers the other day. I’m like level 33 or something and the suggested level to clear it was 23; so I rolled up seeing only those two thinking it’d be a breeze. Wrong. It only took two bullshit hits from those things to kill my ass. |

Sucks this doesn't have coop, looks badass but not sure how much i'll play it. Gameplay starts about 16 minutes. |

Use Exploding Arrows an you'll knock those Glinthawks out of the air easily. Then you can take them over with the spear and they'll attack each other or you can just run up and finish them off. I recommend taking them over as often as possible and using exploding ammunition as much as possible.
|
Ok, turns out Horizon: Zero Dawn was pretty awesome. About halfway through the story really started to pick up speed. Really once they started revealing more about how society collapsed and the plan to prevent extinction.. and that didn't disappoint. Project Zero Dawn was really clever.
Ted Faro ended up being kiiiiiind of a dick. I think the game really just struggled in the present day. I didn't give a shit about Aloy and I certainly didn't give two ****s about any of the other characters. I only cared about uncovering the lore. |
Anyone played Elite Dangerous on console?

I'm wondering if I should burn through that real quick or move on to Assassin's Creed Odyssey. |
So, from what I understand, they created GAIA and through the Hephaestus program it was able to create different types of machines to help terraform the earth. Stormbirds to purify the air, Snapmaws for the water and etc.. but why give all of these machines weapons? Doesn't make sense.

While I'm mostly a retro-gamer I have been watching a lot of vids on THE FOREST lately.
Is this thing as good on console (enjoyable, clearly not literally as good) as PC? Is there a CP community on the game? Anyone recommend it (PS4?) |

Just beat Sekiro... jesus those last two boss fights are ridiculous. Now that I'm playing through NG+ it's hilarious how much better I am at the game, I'm just flying through stuff. Of course starting with maxed out health and 10 Gourds would've made this game easier on the first play through for sure.

*Snippett* Fortnite developer Epic Games is gearing up to release another major game update. Fortnite update 9.10 is tipped to launch in the morning of Wednesday, May 22. And as this is a numbered update, fans can expect the update to be preceded by a period of downtime. Fortnite update 9.10 is likely to be taken offline for server maintenance at 9am UK time. Downtime is expected to end a few hours later at 11am BST. And according to the early patch notes, the headline new feature is a Fortnite crossover with Michael Jordan and the NBA. A new Fortnite teaser tells fans to drop in tomorrow (May 22), because "game recognize game". Needless to say, the Fortnite update will also include a ton of bug fixes, gameplay tweaks, new items and changes. Indeed, Fortnite developer Epic Games has released a full list of patch notes for the audio changes alone. https://www.express.co.uk/entertainm...-Downtime-news |

Just finished Horizon Zero Dawn.
Dope ass game. |
Played some Far Cry: New Dawn.
It's essentially just Far Cry 5 with an apocalypse texture pack, and lots of purple flowers. They reused 98% of Far Cry 5. They did improve a few things. Like if you're 5 minutes into a conversion with a NPC and they walk away for some reason, you don't have to restart the entire conversation, it picks up where you left off. No more radio towers to unlock areas, it just unlocks area as you explore, or you can earn/purchase maps. The guns are the same, just with some new apocalypse twists to them. I mean, it's fun and all. But it's just a lazy rehash of Far Cry 5. |
