There's a good argument to be made that he wasn't a starting caliber player at 28 yrs old. He'll be 31 next season.

I don't think he plays more than 4-6 games next year and probably doesn't finish the season on a roster.
didn't realize he was over 30, that definitely changes my perspective

We are OVER the cap at the moment. We should hear about the Chiefs clearing some cap space before we can sign anyone...

Exactly. This team is in a position where they can have their cake and eat it too. No reason to go whole-hog one way of the other. Keep a balanced, forward-thinking approach and this team will be a contender not only in 2022 but well beyond.

I think you pull the bandaid on Clark, but with what they have behind him, it may be something you just have to do to hedge.

That deal is designed to restructure consistently, though. It's the whole point of the way they designed it.

Have you played with what the math looks like if you do max restructures year after year, and then just do a new deal at age 32? You end up with a big bonus proration in that age 32 season (that starts to drop thereafter), but it's workable for sure, and I think that's the plan for him.

The last 2 Super Bowls won by teams that pushed all chips in.

Rams and Bucs. Our 2019 was pretty aggressive too adding Clark and Mathieu to ensure enough defense to go with our offense.

Screw 2nd or 3rd place.

I mean, if he can be really cheap and they also go after some other pieces, then I can get behind it, but I don't think they can get his cap hit low enough IMO
