Man, that sucks. He will have amazing seats at the Superbowl, though... SEC, could you please make Saquon fumble or something, bro?

You will be missed. You were one of the great ones. Much love, to you and your family.

Aw man. He was a nice guy and a good poster.

RIP. Sad to see another one of these threads.

ROYC75 02-05-2025 03:35 AM

Oh no, I hadn't heard about his condition getting worst, I knew of the earlier reports of his illness. This really sucks, Scott and I have known of each other since the old Star & Rivals BB days, my goodness, almost 30 years now.

We were not really close, but I do recall in 2002 when my wife became ill he reached out to me some. Scott was a caring person, willing to help in any way he could, even though we only met 1 time! He reached out a few times when I was battling 2 health issues of MRSA due to infected artificial knees over 3.5 years. His words of wisdom and faith and an uplifting spirit, as much as all CP members encouragement was a driving force that kept me fighting onward!

Now I feel bad about not returning the kind words, thoughts & prayers!

Thank you Pete for bringing this up for I would have not known, basically I didn't give him the time that he gave me! I just missed the updates on him!

RIP to my friend Sec, I know it to late to say Good Bye properly.

Pete, tell the family ( if you see or speak to them ) My Condolences!

( To some of us old timers on here, we need to somehow keep a closer connection in our later days of life, health issues come quicker now days! )

Again Scott, May you Rest In Peace, no more sickness nor pain friend!

Man, I knew this was coming but it still hits like a ton of bricks. Prayers for his family.

seclark was always a funny poster on here. He was known for one liners for the longest time. I didn't know him real well but in the few times we spoke through PMs or on the bb, he was a great guy. I'm sure he was beloved by family and he will be missed.

RIP, Mr seclark. It was an honor to know you.

I don't pretend to have been a really close friend of his, but we did end up texting back and forth a handful of times over the past year. I got this message back just a few minutes ago:

"Hello, this is ____, Scott's wife. Thank you for the kind words. He loved his friends on the message board. He always had to have his iPad and read everyone's posts while watching the game. GO Chiefs!"

So there you have it. What a tough son of a bitch. It wasn't cancer and ALS that did him in. No.... it was the GDTs.

This one sucks. I mean they all do, but some hurt a bit more - or a lot more. sec was one of the good ones, one of the more understated foundations of this place, and one of my all time favorites over the past 20+ years. My sympathies to his loved ones.

The family has made arrangements and their wish is for any donations to be made to the ALS society to help fund research for a cure. I’m unsure if they want the obituary details posted here so I will not, but those that know him can find it.

If you’re so inclined, you can donate
https://secure2.convio.net/alsa/site...donation=form1

If you choose to donate you can do so in honor of Scott Clark. I will include the tag “-Sec forever” as well and encourage anyone who wishes to do the same. I think another fitting tribute, because he was such a devoted Chiefs fan, include the dollar amount of your favorite players number. That seems appropriate to me.

Frazod 02-06-2025 10:04 PM

Scott lived in my hometown, although I never met him. The funeral home they chose is run by my dad's best friend.

Small world.

He was a great guy, I so enjoyed his posts. He could put a person in their place and not cause a lot of butthurt, a rare commodity on here.
The many stories he shared with us, from work to marathons to family, we were truly blessed by his presence. My favorite posts from Sec were Uncle Ernie stories, he was a great storyteller.
His kindness and compassion will be missed in addition to his wit. I too, wish I could have met him.

It’s not often that I don’t have the words, but this is one of those times. Today I received a message from Mrs Seclark that she asked me to share with all of you. It’s not an easy message to even type.

Sec passed away this morning after a battle with cancer and ALS.

We communicated semi regularly and it was always a pleasure. Scott was one of the best humans, who lived to love his family and friends. Never once did he complain about his challenges, he was always so positive…and usually more concerned with what was going on with me. I can’t do him justice in this message, but in some of our last texts, when I mentioned his illness, he said the following quote that defines the man for me:

“I haven’t tasted food in 3 months. But I Am Blessed! I have family and friends who love me and stay with me. I have elders and a pastor who visit me. My grandchildren are my pride and joy and they come and see me. That’s all I need in life”

He was a great, great guy and I’ll miss him on a personal level. A random poster on a message board became someone I consider one of my best pals in life. I hope I can become as good of a man as I considered him to be.

It is my hope that CP can honor him, and I will find an appropriate cause or fund that his family supports and ask those who considered him a friend, Like I did, to honor him that way.

-Sec forever.

dang, so sorry - RIP Seclark.
