No, the pressure of one of the best teams in the NFL and one of the best QBs in the NFL was a heavy load.

Jeez man, lose one game...ONE GAME to an elite opponent and people start saying dumbass stuff

I was wondering about that myself, though I wasn't aware of the exact percentage. 47% seems awfully low.

I was pretty annoyed during last night's game in the first series of the 3rd quarter, when it was 3rd-and-1, and both Travis and DHop were on the sidelines though. It was like we were shouting to BUF and the world, "hey, we're running it here!!!!" Didn't make any sense to me at all.

And I know there were a few other plays where DHop was conspicuously not on the field in key 3rd down moments during the game that seemed odd to me.

I suppose it's possible that he hasn't absorbed enough of the playbook/subpackages yet. Heck, it's only been 3.5 weeks since he became a Chief?

Why Not? 11-18-2024 05:32 PM

I listened to his segment on this today. He was basically alluding to, as some have here, that the Chiefs may not have been going all out to win this game. He used this Hopkins stat and the fact that Josh Uche played 5 total snaps in a game where we got very little pressure on Allen.

Megatron96 11-18-2024 05:39 PM

Anyway, it goes without saying that I, along with I suspect everyone here, haven't spent any time watching CAR this season. So I really don't know what to expect. And I doubt I'm going to dive into their game films to try and get better acquainted with them this week.

But just based on some of their gross metrics, they look like a cross between LVR and NOR, statistically? Just based on that, I expect a score that looks something like 27-20, or maybe 28-16 or whatever. It'll probably be more interesting to see Pacheco back and how he looks, as well as how much/little Travis and DHop play. And I expect that they'll both be spending a lot of time on the sideline for this one.

cmh6476 11-18-2024 06:59 PM

We also probably ought to remember we play the raiders 5 days after this game.

DrunkBassGuitar 11-18-2024 07:17 PM

Chief's are going to do just enough to position themselves well for the playoffs, that's why there's so many close games, sometimes it bites you like on Sunday but they're still in the lead for the HFA and will probably stay there. They're trying not to peak during the holidays

Everyone is going to keep saying why isn't Mahomes Mahomes then it'll be the post season and Mahomes Mahomes will show up

If Hopkins gets injured, we're screwed. They need to keep him and Kelce healthy, and yes that means limiting their reps. They've already had their BYE. The schedule remaining is condensed. You need these guys fresh for the postseason.

They have gained the fewest offensive yards and allowed the most points. I don’t expect a close game. The Raiders have an actual defense, Carolina’s was historically bad at the beginning of the year. They are basically the Lions, but in reverse

I don't think I said it would be close. I expect we'll dominate throughout, but facts are facts.

ATL has been getting spanked left and right recently, but KC eked out just 22 pts a couple months ago.

TB annihilated NOR with 51, but the Chiefs managed just 26.

TB was (and still is) sporting a bottom-5 defense, and we scored just 24 pts in regulation just a couple weeks ago. At home.

We are getting Pacheco back, but that doesn't help our OTs all that much. Some, but it's not going to be a banner day in terms of protection, most likely anyway.

And looking at the weaker teams we've played, the Chiefs score about a FG more than their average of 24 points in those cases, so I feel like 27-28 points is a fairly good prediction.

Now, maybe CAR just doesn't score more than 10 pts against us, whatever. But I won't be super surprised if they managed to score 17 or so either. Especially in garbage time if that ends up being most of the 3rd and all of the 4th quarter.

Regardless, I think there's little question KC wins, I just wouldn't bet the farm that we'll suddenly run roughshod over any team, not even CAR.

In order for there to be ANY optimism we HAVE to blow out the Panthers like 35-10.

If it's some of this 24-14 bullshit it's a sign that we're gonna have problems trying to beat Pitt and Denver again.

We really can't have some close game here. In any way. It's gotta be a 2018 type Mahomes game.

Meh, I don't think we have to blow out CAR. We have to dominate them, but if we don't drop 35+ on them I don't think it's that big a deal.

If we're brutally honest about it, Pat is a little broken right now. And it's not just about his deep passes. He almost missed several short/intermediate passes recently as well. Imo, most if not all of it is directly related to his protection, which just hasn't been very good this year. Or last year. Or the year before that. And it's gradually become the problem it is now.

But he's always managed to deal with it by the end of the season, so I'm just not going to freak out about it right now. He's been good enough for the most part this season, and I expect that sooner or later he'll rise to another level in time for the playoffs.

This doesn't FEEL like last season when Pat was actually playing quite well but everyone was dropping passes.

HE IS PLAYING LIKE SHIT. So I agree, he seems to have regressed and why, I don't know.

I'm gonna stick by my point - this needs to be a blowout. For team morale too. They haven't really dominated ANYONE all year and if they can't dominate the Panthers then it's gonna have a ripple effect throughout the team.

It's the worst team in the league. The WORST. If we can't blow them out how the hell are we going to get HFA???? We won't.

gordonelloyd 11-18-2024 11:06 PM

It would be great if we could blow them out. But the way the games have been going this year that is unlikely. We will probably just continue to keep plodding through. But it should still be enough to get home-field advantage and the number one seed.

My biggest worry is that we are all expecting Mahomes to be able to just flip a switch and go back to his elite level come the playoffs. I hope that will be the case. But it’s something I am starting to worry about. he was not the problem last year. His receivers were. This year he is the problem way too often. I understand we have a real problem at LT. But there are very few teams that don’t have a problem in the OL somewhere. And it clearly looks like we are going to just stick with Kingsley and Morris and not bring anybody else in. I don’t understand that but it’s clearly the path that we are on it would seem.

Not too worried about the loss to Buffalo. We had to lose to someone and they are an elite team. We had to have our a game to beat them and we didn’t. Hopefully in the playoffs we will.

No clue if we'll get this one on CBS either.. all of their games suck ass this week and none are particularly close to Arizona. Hell, they might give us the ****ing Raiders/Broncos as the CBS single game, but it's on at the same time as the Cards.

I literally made a thread about the fact that I sit back now at times and really take it all in because it won't be here forever.

With that said, it doesn't mean I have to live in denial about how the team is currently playing. Mainly Pat, the left tackle, and the secondary.

WE can also potentially add on an edge rusher that we don't have to that list.

O.city 11-19-2024 09:16 AM

They're a bad team with a QB who has struggled and sold at the deadline. Should be a get-right game, but who knows since we play everyone close.

These clowns are pathetic, just kick the everloving shit out of them. Please, just one blowout this year. That's all I ask.

That's by total yards we are 18th ranked offense.

Yards per game we're 16th

total points we're 14th

points per game we're 11th

Interesting. it's points divided by total plays (offense defense special teams) in a game.

Chiefs were dead last in 2012

then jumped to 4th in 2013

Top ten from 2017 through 2022 (first place in 2018, 2019 and 2021)

16 th last year.

sounds about right.

I understand now that was profoundly stupid as being in a box is an enormous privilege no matter who is playing

I understand now that was profoundly stupid as being in a box is an enormous privilege no matter who is playing

Sadly we couldn’t swing the Taylor Swift box tho o:-)

I’ll start the game day thread. Proper format and at exactly midnight central time. Last game thread I started, I won.
