I will even throw you a bone. Beat the Celtics in the finals, ala Magic and Kobe, THEN you can have your jersey in the rafters. How about that?

Curry slowly making his team cook and this thread is all about LeBron.

A taller ganglier Westbrook with half the talent.

Half the talent of Westbrook is a pretty generous statement for him.

Can't stand watching these players like randle who have to hold the ball for like 20 seconds in order to cook

And on top of that he could be a really good rebounder but is always just kind of standing around

It seems like lebron is playing a lot more off ball. At his age he recognized he can't have the kind of usage he's had earlier in his career. And his shot looks really smooth now. smart move given his age

I still don't understand how Dalton Knecht slid to the 17th pick.

That kid just does everything you want as a complementary player.

Obviously the Lakers are Anthony Davis's team at this point and LBJ is playing great ball. But the difference between the Lakers as a playoff team and the Lakers as a genuine contender would be Knecht and Reaves. If Knecht can continue to develop and Reaves can find some consistency, that team is a really tough out.

Rui and Russell can't be your 3rd and 4th best players in the playoffs. Russell is wildly inconsistent (and consistently shitty in the playoffs) and Rui is just limited. But if you can get Reaves and Knecht to carry that 3rd offensive piece and the floor spacer roles, you might have something worth watching.

And it is sad nobody in media or the NBA will call him out on it. It's a bad teammate. Its selfish. Its narcissistic.

By the way Bronny is shooting 21%, 28 mpg, 5 ppg in his GLeague games so far. Home games only.

Just ridiculous.

If you had the power and influence to get your scrub son in the NBA, I doubt you would do anything different.

And I'm well aware Bronny isn't good enough to play pro basketball at any level; I watched him more than enough at USC. There's a reason he was basically unplayable at the college level. He won't perform in the G League because the G League consists of players all far superior to him.

It remains stunning that not one person in the media will address that elephant in the room, but that speaks to LeBron's influence too.

Anyone else fed up with this injury bullshit? It’s a complete joke. Superstars show up on the injury report a few minutes before game time out of nowhere. Other guys like Embiid and Ben Simmons and kyrie have decided at times to not play because they just don’t feel like it

I’ve noticed this in the nfl a lot lately but it’s extremely bad in the nba. It’s completely unwatchable. Total dick kick to fans traveling out of town to watch games where a superstar is held out due to a hangnail. Half of the games are unwatchable because even good teams are tanking because they’re paranoid about pitch counts.

How do we solve this? It annoys me more because I like betting on players and games. But it’s obviously a huge problem for the fan experience in multiple sports.

I don't care what he was doing at the beginning of the season when he was fresh. I came into this thread talking about his last few games. He hasn't shot 48% or better once in his last 4 games. It's only December, and he looks old as **** already. There's a reason you've been so quiet, so you know this already.

I don't know why you are so triggered though. He already has the longevity argument. There's nothing wrong with him finally starting to look washed.

You need a tissue? Sorry that somebody pointed out that Lebron is having a terrible stretch very early in the season. I know you preferred to just pretend it didn't happen then post again when he finally has another vintage game.

You know getting this defensive about something that even I am acknowledging means absolutely nothing only makes you look more insecure, right?

Your hate for LeBron has consumed you and left you like this, it’s sad

I didn't declare him "absolutely washed", I said he "looks" absolutely washed. I'm sure he has some great games left in him, but his empty stats haven't impacted wins/losses the last few years as it is, and he's never looked quite this old this early.

Again, why are you so butthurt about this? It's like Brady fans all over again. There's nothing wrong with the guy that is the longevity GOAT finally looking old.

Good ****ing god you're a sensitive little pussy.

This guy waits for literally over two decades for LeBron to finally look bad for a full week and declares me the sensitive little pussy for calling out how stupid that looks LMAO

It's hilarious watching you try to pretend like you didn't just get really butthurt because I said a very old athlete is starting to look very old.

That's why I decided to post and troll you though. Only you are a big enough loser and insecure bundle of sticks to take offense to that. If Mahomes starts looking old at 39 I'll just laugh about it. Who ****ing cares dude? LMAO

I just picture you MJ fans stewing and biding your time for 22 years until you finally got the opportunity to call LeBron washed in year 22 during a bad week after the greatest career in NBA history. Was it worth the wait? LMAO

smithandrew051 12-03-2024 09:08 PM

I’m going to write a romance novel that starts with you two arguing about LeBron, but ends with you being madly in love.

Absolutely hilarious that you think I'm celebrating LeBron finally looking old like it's some W when I've literally conceded the longevity argument years ago. What exactly is this supposed to do other than be a perfect opportunity to watch you display your insecurities as a fan? LMAO

LeBron is old, yes. Extremely old by basketball standards (only one other player has even played 22 seasons, VC).

And yet he’s posting numbers right now that would make him an easy HOFer if he played an entire career at his 2024 level LMAO

You really got him this time

Make no mistake about it. I'm actually arguing for Lebron here. I'm having to coddle a butthurt Bronsexual and assure that this won't impact his legacy even as a hater.

Says the guy who showed up in this thread for the first time this season to trash a 40 year old for missing some threes.

He’s in your head and he will always be in your head.

You don't get to suck his dick over empty stays then just ignore nights/stretches liks this:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">LeBron James tonight:<br><br>10 Points<br>4/16 FGM<br>0/4 3PM<br>30 Minutes <a href="https://t.co/zlDRZsiewD">pic.twitter.com/zlDRZsiewD</a></p>&mdash; Hoop Central (@TheHoopCentral) <a href="https://twitter.com/TheHoopCentral/status/1863782441653084404?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">December 3, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

That's all. It's ok. There's nothing wrong with him showing his age more than he ever has. He can keep stacking on that longevity argument even with stretches/games like this.

LeBron’s legacy as the greatest player of all time has been secure for almost a decade now; I assure you I’m not worried about his steady decline as a basketball player affecting that (which btw has also been going on for about a decade now)

10 points? He kept his double digit scoring streak going then, all I’m worried about

LeBron is a great player. He may be the greatest player of all time when considering longevity. I do think he benefits from playing in a softer era. Would he have had the same success in the 80’s and 90’s? Maybe, and I’m specifically referring to career length here. I think he could have played in those eras. That being said, I’m ready for him, Curry, and Chris Paul to step away. I’m tired of watching James be fake as ****! I’m stopped watching the NBA when flopping and load management became common place. Thank you Greg Popovich. And I miss seeing great defensive plays and emphatic dunks. The game has become boring to me. I’m a former season ticket holder.

In their prime, I’m still taking Jordan and Kobe over LeJames.

LeBron is bigger, stronger and faster than anyone who played in the 80s and 90s, so yes, he’d do more than fine. His numbers would be far better in fact.

Serious question: Is Kobe the most overrated player in NBA history? The most overrated athlete ever? Very good player (although not the best in his era and not even the best on several of his championship teams) but I honestly don’t know how he gets even thrown into this kind of discussion. Is it because he died young? He’s not even top 15 of all time and top 20 is pushing it too.

UteChief 12-03-2024 09:41 PM

James is the same size as Karl Malone. James would have been developed differently in the 80s.

No ****ing way would his numbers be better. The players so much more physical. How old are you?

UteChief 12-03-2024 09:43 PM

I know a lot of professionals that have MJ 1 and Kobe 2.

He is overrated as hell and it is basically because he died fairly young.

Far better. The level of athlete in the NBA 40 years ago is nothing compared to today. The difference is enormous over the course of LeBron’s entire career too. When he first started out in 2003, the game was basically played in slow motion compared to 2024.

WTF?

No, if anything, it's because he won a lot of championships.

Only one more than James, but let’s not introduce facts into the conversation.

Tim Duncan won the same amount of championships and was a better and more impactful player than Kobe, so why not him being mentioned in that company? Why is it only Kobe that is thrown into conversations he doesn’t deserve to be in?

New World Order 12-03-2024 10:49 PM

Who would you guys take in their prime:

Stockton or Chris Paul

New World Order 12-03-2024 10:50 PM

Kobe is overrated, yes.

He’s really good but doesn’t deserve to be in GOAT conversation
