It was me. He called my building principal. This had to be over 13 years ago. Most on this board knew my real name and occupation. He was complaining about teachers pay and him and I got into it.

My principal laughed about it but he really tried to screw my professional life because of postings on an internet message board.

Ya know, it's funny. Most of my memories of Skip revolve around "mostly" friendly banter. However, there were times, and that being one of them, where the guy just didn't give a shit about boundaries.

Damn. I was good friends with him and Milkman (I posted what his wife sent me after his passing) from the get go on here…both were known for telling it like it is and hazing n00bs. Sucks, but time waits for nobody, even n00bs. I’m sad to hear this. He even helped me get a contract with directv back in the day that made me a ton of $$$.

I kinda remember a little n00b stuff from Skip when I went from lurker to poster, but mostly it was harmless. He was a good litmus test for whether people should bother sticking around. Wish he would have stopped by sometime before he passed. Anyone who posted through all those dark days deserved a victory lap. R.I.P

I wonder if Skip ever would have come around to my hatred of megathreads. He LOVED his 100+ post threads back in the day, but these days it seems like people would rather have giant threads than small threads.

I never had another exchange after he called my principal. I put him on my ignore list after our back and forth DMs and that was the last contact I had with him.

That was just plain over the top wrong. He is known as the grumpy old man. I am now a full decade older than he was at that time so I totally get the grumpy part, but that was pure bullshit.

I was randomly looking at the list of top members by post count today, and I noticed that Skip is still on the first page (#30) even though he hasn't posted for a decade. The dude was quite prolific for his time (especially given the WebTV thing).
