Damn. I can go to exactly 1 game, Buffalo. Everything else is bloody prime time...which is a good problem to have but still...I mean, Jacksonville is not but that's hunting weekend, so that's out. Can't do Christmas Eve or New years day...

Dang. Oh well, I'll have to jump on them tix early. Taking my daughter this year, if I can afford it...

I’m telling you, bro. Andy has a plan. The league isn’t ready for what he’s about to unleash. He’s made top 10 offenses with scrub players in Philly. He has the best quarterback he’s ever had, the best TE he’s ever had, and he has quite a few players that have the skills/traits to keep this offense rolling. It’s not gonna be be the **** it, Reek down there somewhere game anymore. It’s gonna be pick your poison. Want to drop 8, our OL will maul you and make it. Wanna stack the box, good luck covering Kelce, Juju, MVS, Hardman, Skyy, and the RB. The league has the old blueprint, but that don’t work anymore. Trust. We have the best quarterback/coach combo in the league.

I think the flip side of that is how poorly they played for 6 weeks last season and still made the AFCCG.

I could be wrong, but I think a retooling team led by Mahomes is still a playoff team.... how could it not be if teams like the brokedick Steelers and the Raiders can make the playoffs? (and I know, the schedule)

If we really need to lower expectations, I'd still set it at like losing in the divisional to the Bills partly because they finally had to go on the road for a playoff game.... and that's completely fine, because they simply won't win that kind of 50/50 game every time.

Missing the playoffs without any major injuries would be surprising, IMO.

I absolutely think we're still a playoff team. But my view at the moment is we're not getting a bye and very likely not winning the division. I thought we were on the defensive even before we traded Hill, and now - while I'm much more excited about the defense over the next several years - I think a balanced offense has the potential to better but also could be more generic and less explosive (at least at first).

The rest of the AFC made a lot of win-now moves and we did the opposite. There's no shame in a down season (which could be another AFCCG loss) in that light.

Sounds like you are throwing in the towel on this season before it even starts.

Very foolish.

Yea, it could be the year we don’t at least make it to the AFCCG, but make no mistake about it, it could also be a SB year.

This team is loaded with young talent now, and they have enough good vets to get it done.

Completely agree... and just love the fact we can talk about 'down years' as "only winning one or two playoff games". :D

Ok smartass, I think this team goes 12 - 5. We lose to Bucs, Rams, Bills, Bengals and split with Chargers. We win the AFC West again and go to Buffalo for AFCCG. If that comes to fruition, will you merrily kiss my fat ass? :thumb:

Throwing in the towel? What in the world are you talking about?

Get a grip. I'm a fan. These are my expectations. They're a bit lower than they've been prior seasons. It's foolish to have expectations like that? Will they somehow influence how the team performs? If the team makes the Super Bowl, will I somehow be disappointed and a laughingstock because I totally wrote them off? Did I totally write them off? Absolutely not.

You're the guy who has sworn off watching this team publicly before like a petulant child because they disappointed you. Pretty sure you might be one of the last people who has a leg to stand on in calling others foolish for more tempered expectations.

Your post read like you thought there’s no chance they win the Super Bowl.

I don’t expect to win the SB either, but this team is absolutely still a SB contender. It’s just going to be tough with a brutal schedule.

That’s fair. I actually agree with almost everything you said.

Just felt like you were saying that they aren’t going to win a SB this year, and you’re good with that, hence “throwing in the towel”.

I won't be surprised if the team takes a step back, but I think you could also make a solid argument that they'll be better on both sides of the ball.

Oz_Chief 05-12-2022 09:58 PM

I think its interesting that we're done with Chargers week 11. It'll be a race at that point I guess. I love that the season closes against the Raiders.

Halfcan 05-12-2022 09:59 PM

I am seeing 15 wins and 2 losses, maybe 14-3 on the low side.

We will sweep the West, win the division again and get the 1st round bye.

Bengals and Bills will have to come to Arrowhead where they will get their asses kicked.

We beat the Rams in the SB.

Mahomes and Kelce do beer bongs down Main Street!

Iconic 05-12-2022 10:09 PM

Swear we always get our hardest games at the start of the season... and that's literally the worst time to get them with a team consisting of so many new faces.

JohnnyHammersticks 05-12-2022 10:19 PM

Based on recent pics, it looks like Russell Wilson is in around month 5 of his pregnancy, so barring any potential problems he develops giving birth he'll be close to 100% by the time we play them. I was hoping we could catch them at least one game while he's still on maternity leave.

Not bad. First half of the season is kind of rough, but the second half is MUCH easier.

Week 1. The midget qb with no Hopkins and a bullseye on him by Chenal. I see us pulling away early. 1-0

Week 2. Gonna be a good game that we have a good chance to win if we don’t beat ourselves. I think we match up to them very well, personally. It will be a great early test for our young back 7. Short week and they have the burden of travel after what’s sure to be a draining opener against LV. 2-0

Week 3. Extra time to prepare for a team without a QB. I pencil this in as a W, but Indy always plays us close. 3-0

Week 4. Tom Brady will have his troops prepared for a 12 round heavyweight fight in this one and even though our young secondary makes some plays in this one, their early season lack of thorough communication will be tested by the best pocket passer, possibly of all time with laser focus for this specific matchup. 3-1

Week 5. After the matchup with Brady, the secondary comes out loaded for bear against LV. Carrs mascara will be running down his face by the end of this heartbreaker for LV. Sneed on Adams, McDuffie on Renfrow, Fenton on Bryan Edwards all seem like they have the makings for a great game of matchups. I won’t be the least bit surprised to see McDaniels sit Carr down late in this one for Stidham if Carr isn’t lighting the world on fire by that point. 4-1

Week 6. This should be an instant classic. By this time, Mahomes will have chemistry with at least 3 of the WRs and will have Kelce and the backs out there to eat up free yards underneath all day. I think this is a game we will see Skyy Moore BREAK OUT. Something like 8 catches for 135 yards and 2 scores kind of game. He and Mahomes will be clicking and as the defenses adjust, Pat is going to go into God mode. On defense, this will be another HUGE test for the back 7. Buffalos receivers and tight ends are good and deep. They will try to find thexweak spot to attack on the defense and will have some success, but they aren’t expecting Leo Chanel to chin check Josh Allen early and often, taking away his ability to run with the ball without consequence is a game changer. 5-1

Week 7. I expect the 49ers game to be easier than most think, TBH. Trey Lance will likely be their starter and I think we have the nessesary tools on defense to make him have a long day. 6-1

Week 8 is the perfect time to have what is surely a much needed bye week to rest and recover after a tough and physical early stretch. It’s also time tge coaches need to prepare the final game plan to not get depantsed again by Vrabel.

Week 9. I don’t think Vrabel has the horses to attack us the way he did last year on both sides of the ball. No more Brown is huge for us and Burks will present his own challenges for our defense, but we should be able to smother him and if we do that and hit Henry in the mouth when he gets the ball, I can see CC a game where a spirited Chiefs team is out for blood against a team that embarrased them last year. 7-1

Week 10. Jags have no shot. 8-1

Week 11. I can see a hyped up Chargers team coming out with a lot of energy and focus after losing the earlier matchup and giving us a ruling for our money in a game that can go either way. 8-2

Week 12. This is another close game that can go either way. Lots of elite matchups everywhere at every level. Truly a possible Super Bowl preview. 9-2

Week 13. This year is going to battle test this Chiefs team like no other and this matchup is no different. If we are healthy, we can beat any team in football by this point and Cincinnati has the same ability. Burrow is the real deal and so are his WRs. This game will be decided by the turnover margin and I’ve given enough of these coin flip games to KC. 9-3

Week 14. Denver is a much improved team and will be clicking by this point, if Russ stays healthy. This will be a game we will lose in Denver if we don’t play our best football all 60 minutes. I know that’s cliche, but one or 2 plays are going to be the difference in this one. No room to make uncharacteristic mistakes with what’s likely to be the 1 seed in our sights. 10-3

Week 15. Texans don’t stand a chance. 11-3

Week 16. See week 15. 12-3

Week 17. I see us splitting with Denver this year and gave the first matchup to us so it is what it is. We lose a good game here, but so does the other team trying for the 1 seed. 12-4

Week 18. LV is an improved team, but KC runs them over and rests starters in the second half after destroying LV in the first half. 13-4

1st round bye over Buffalo.

You should stick to things you’re good at. You’re not good at trolling, you are good at sucking your moms dick. Stick to what you’re best at, kid.

They
Will
Be
Fine

Past performance does not indicate the future. I'm looking forward to a different team, I think they got a bit complacent and players didn't play with the same energy. They lost a number of games due to some fluke plays that aren't going to happen again. Patrick will grow into a better player. All of those teams are looking at playing the Chiefs and wondering what sort of offense and defense are they going to see? I see a bunch of veterans with some new and hungry players ready to make their mark.

Very foolish.

Yea, it could be the year we don’t at least make it to the AFCCG, but make no mistake about it, it could also be a SB year.

This team is loaded with young talent now, and they have enough good vets to get it done.

MahomesMagic 05-13-2022 07:02 AM

This team isn't pushing all its chips in the way the 2 previous Super Bowl winners did in Tampa and LA Rams so it is hard to see us as a favorite.

We certainly are a contender every year we have Mahomes but right now it looks like we are deliberately recalibrating.

I heard Brady was already presented with the Lombardi and the Super Bowl MVP trophies.....

wachashi 05-13-2022 07:12 AM

Vegas still has the Chiefs favored to win the AFC West

Chiefs: +150
Chargers: +250
Broncos: +260
Raiders: +600

The Bills are favored to win the AFC Championship at +350. Chiefs are right behind at +450.

Yes, our roster has changed quite a bit so there will be some re-tooling, but this team isn't going anywhere as long as Mahomes is the QB.

irafreak 05-13-2022 08:00 AM

Unfortunate to get the bills on a short week.

True, but the old SB window is closed. IMO, they'll likely take a step backwards this season, as it's the first year of building Super Bowl window #2 with Mahomes.

O.city 05-13-2022 08:07 AM

How many times have we "god this schedule is so tough'd" it and then it comes down to it and it's not as bad.

It's a long way to the season. Who knows who's gonna be good bad or ugly.

4 of which are in the first half of the year. Only one after week 9.

What does that tell you? The league and networks believes the Chiefs will have a 2nd half downward slide.

Yup and also they want the best match ups early for health. They think we will be out of it after they ****ed us so they get us on TV early.

Yeah, they thought the same thing last year too.

How'd that work out for them?

First 8 teams we face are projected or did have winning records. It's an NFL record. No team has ever started with that. We play one home game in a 4 game stretch twice.

old_geezer 05-13-2022 09:27 AM

The 3 game road stretch in December is pretty bad but, other than that I don't see much to gripe about. I actually think we could be 3-4 (or more likely 4-3) at the break and be set up pretty nicely for the rest of the season. We should have most of our glitches worked out by then and be ready to roll.

A ton of teams don’t have the coaching staff with the track record we do.

You’re being obtuse.

Unless something fairly extreme happens, like a slew of injuries or Mahomes has zero chemistry with the new WRs, I see no reason why they can’t beat the Bills or anyone else.

Andy usually has our offense playing well the first month with new stuff. If we can get through those first 4 games then we have a 4 game stretch with 3 of 4 at home then the bye.

ChiefBlueCFC 05-13-2022 10:11 AM

We face the teams we will likely face in the playoffs earlier in the year, as we are figuring ourselves out. Similarly to 2019, everyone thought they had us, the same will happen this year. The defense struggle early and by week 10 or 11 they'll start finding their feet and hitting their stride.

Come playoff time, teams will think they have us pegged and figured out, only for Andy and Pat to unless the grim on them

KINGPIN CHIEFS FAN 05-13-2022 10:19 AM

I know one person who's not complaining about the schedule, that's Patrick f-ing Mahomes! He lives for this challenge to show exactly who is the greatest quarterback of all time. He threw 50 touchdowns in his first full season, what do you think he will do this year? Go ahead and bet against him! We just need to sit back and enjoy the show! In Patrick we trust!

7 teams with winning records last year, 3 straight road games in dec. Wow. that's a tuff scheduled.

PHOG 05-13-2022 10:32 AM

Beginning week 11, we have 4 of 5 of the games on the road, with the lone home game being the Rams.

This may surprise you, but we only have 5 out of 17 games against teams that were under .500 last year and 2 of those games are against Denver. So while we play 8 in row to start off, the final 9 games consist of 3 teams above .500.

As for the 1 home game in 4 game stretch twice, we also have a stretch were 5 out of 7 are at home.
