OK...I'm the other Browns fan. I'm excited to see a playoff game that I actually have some interest in. Please...continue to take the Browns lightly. It's the only chance we have. Here's hoping you destroy the Packers in the Superbowl. The only thing I know about your city, is that I hitchhiked through it several times in the '70's....I wish I could remember more about it, but hallucinogenics did not enhance my memory as advertised. I'm hoping for a good game. Thanks for Dorsey. I thought he was an excellent GM, who made a career mistake by endorsing Freddie Kitchens. He really played a major role in turning our team around. ( Dorsey..NOT Kitchens )...Oh...and thanks for Hunt, too.

What the fans do have no bearing on the game. |

The reality is that this is true for nearly any QB in the history of football not named Mahomes. It'd be true of peak Tom Brady, Joe Montana, you name 'em. Even Peyton Manning, who basically ran his own offense, called and ran plays in such a way as to make his reads easier and utilized a strong running game in order to be able to work off of play-action. |

Reid and Mahomes have already talked about putting in some new plays and what not... and yeah, they do a little bit of that in the regular season, but a more vanilla playbook is literally playing down to the competition or the situation. The Colts were doing all kinds of stupid shit this past weekend because it's the playoffs. In last year's SB, Mahomes was diving head first into defenders on multiple occasions.... that doesn't mean he "doesn't try" in the regular season, but he definitely threw caution to the wind against the 49ers. And when they look like complete shit against the Dolphins and then score 4 touchdowns in 8 minutes, or when they need that one drive to beat the Falcons, score a million times against the Texans in the playoffs.... call it whatever you want, lack of focus, playing down to competition, flipping a switch, beast mode... https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/...DWsAEPntc.jpeg |

Maybe it’s just a semantics thing. I get being emotionally charged to play in a post season game vs a game week 6 vs the Jets, I just don’t think the term “playing down” is very accurate. |

What's shakin' Chief's Planet?
Browns fan here... made my way through the forum... Can't find the sale on air fryers, took notes on "Clever Ways To Salvage Ruined Brownies" (thanks in advance!), drank a half gallon of antifreeze and walked barefoot through the AIDS infested fires as suggested. Hope I'm worthy of a post or two. First, I hate you. The biggest reason I hate you is because I wanted to draft Mahommes -- and scratched my head while all the bozo-beat-writers around the league kept saying he was "too raw" and "a project". I guess more accurate term is "hated", I've come to terms now that the Brownies finally managed to navigate this decade's-old rift in the space-time continuum and draft a franchise QB. I'll roll with Baker. That said, I have some family in KC and joined them last winter in your beautiful city... just long enough to appreciate and admire your love for your Chiefs. Congrats to all you die-hard fans, I hope the journey to "champions", and returning to the top of the league (with possible dynasty on the horizon) was worth the wait. Savor it, waiting is hard, no one knows better than a Browns fan. Sunday was one of my happiest days as a Browns fan. It's not just because we won a playoff game. We've changed a culture, we've overcome incredible odds, we've finally found our franchise QB... and we finally exercise a demon that has haunted us for decades. Top-notch talent from the top of the organization, down. Future so bright, regardless of what happens this Sunday afternoon. I sat in the stands, ass frozen to the seat, in the '86 double overtime victory over the Jets... only to experience "the drive" eight days later. I was at the last playoff win over the Patriots in early '95... six days later we lost to the Steelers. The future was bright though -- Belichick and Saban on the sideline? C'mon man. THEN a pissy Art Model, jealous of our new baseball stadium, becomes a thief in the night. WE fought to keep our team, but since the return, nothing but heart-ache. BBS (Battered Browns Syndrome) is REAL. Just wanted to check in and wish you chumps luck on Sunday. Don't expect that you'll need it, your team is on a different level. I'll cling to any hope and keep my vision clouded with the idea of "Any Given Sunday". More than this -- I look forward to some epic battles over the next few years. Nice to get our feet wet this year and feel like we "belong". Hope my Brownies are blessed with enough good fortune to keep the line rising up the graph so that we can compete on the same level. Couldn't pick two cities and fan-bases that are more deserving! |

I think baker is worth extending for the same reason Alex Smith was good for us early even if I never wanted him long term. But with what CLE is building that should definitely not stop them from aggressively doing better just like kc did. |

The Baker i see you describing is the Baker we saw the first half of the season, and the Baker i have watched grow, and really show out against the Titans, Ravens, and then against the steelers where he was getting rid of the ball in an absurd 2.11 seconds is not like the guy described at all. Clearly you know my feelings for Alex, but Baker will attempt throws Alex could never dream of. I think the sky is the absolute limit for Baker. They showed several plays in the pitts game where baker was getting to his 3rd and fourth read. FIrst few games of the season it was first read or death. |

That said I wasn't aware of the cap implications, so go ahead and find out if he's a fit in 2021... but I wouldn't hold my breath |

I, and I anticipate most other fans on the board wouldn't be horrifically shocked by a Chiefs L. I mean Mahomes is the cursebreaker and all, but he can't do everything. And besides that, you can't completely wash away the beatings that we took. A whipped dog will always be a whipped dog. That brother****ing Cheatriot team that beat us in 2018 AFCCG (which I was at BTW :Lin: ) was really bad. And FFS the Faid beat us. Odds are we win, but dumber shit has happened. And more specifically, dumber shit has happened to us. And the confidence we show today, isn't blind, dumb, entitled arrogance, like a lot of brother****ing Cheatriot fans. |

He's mostly right when speaking of Baker's body of work, but you're dead on with the progression over the season. We watched Baker run around "willy-nilly" in the pocket early on. Any sign of pressure and his processor was locked up. He's improved by leaps and bounds over the course of the season. Mistakes are way down, winning plays way up. Getting much better at going through progressions with the necessary pace. More than this, he's taken his mind off always looking for the big play (a huge problem early on) and will settle for positive yardage -- without missing many big plays. Baker has a plus arm and can make all the throws, his progress with all the other nuances and requirements of being a top-tier QB have been impressive. Still a work in progress, but Coach Ski has put him in a great system to reap the rewards of hard work. JMHO. |

I will. Solid posters here, nice variety and plenty of humor. Puts most other team sites to shame. Hats off to the admins and powers-that-be.

Baker had some gritty runs late in that game. Steelers had stifled Hunt and Chubb in the second half, Mayfield rushed for 44 and FOUR big first downs. It's not always pretty, but no questioning the heart. |

As recently as 2016-2017 the Browns went 1 - 32. Last year they were supposed to contend and fell way short, so you can understand the euphoria of their fans this year. They're going to try to run a lot on Sunday, so the Chiefs had better be prepared for that.

Beat them so bad they never want to watch football again

A side note on the site some of my favorites:
In the Pictures forum: besides the Boobs, Nope nope noppity nope, Epic win/fail, The Spread, Women clothed/naked. One I couldn't find is the Hall of Fame thread? Where did it go. THAT would definitely a thread to view. Shows a lot of history to include the genesis of McFisty. Ah, found it. It is not linkable through the "Lounge". It shows from the "ChiefsPlanet" first link. Another interesting perk of the board is the eclectic nature of the threads: sous vide cooking, handyman corner, pets, poop, gardening tips, dude draws "cartoon" pictures of posters et. al. Quite entertaining and can be a great time waster:) |
