Aren't too many trees outside Arrowhead stadium for CEH to go cut his own switch to bring back to Adrian Peterson for disciplinary purposes.

Dang. A bunch of us were liking him later in the draft. Washington grabbed him early than I expected, though.

BossChief 09-04-2020 06:11 PM

He’s not really a fit for our offense. The age doesn’t scare me. He’s still a league average RB that runs with power.

Our RBs need to be good receivers and protectors and that’s not really APs game.

Megatron96 09-04-2020 06:14 PM

It's all pretty much moot, IMO, because as much as I like AP just as a runner, he just simply doesn't fit into the Chiefs' scheme. He's a volume RB, basically needs around 20 carries (not touches) to be really effective, and he would never get that in Andy's offense. Also, he's not much of a route runner or receiver. He just doesn't make much sense in KC.

displacedinMN 09-04-2020 07:16 PM

He can't block or catch.

Runs like he has a full diaper

ThaVirus 09-04-2020 08:00 PM

He'd do alright here. It's not like Andy lines our backs out wide often or sends them on complex routes.

New World Order 09-04-2020 11:01 PM

Not sure how he'd fit in here unless it's a lot of short yardage type carries.

I dunno

The challenge is that I don't know if camels appreciate or depreciate.

I would think a baby camel would be appreciating. Later in life not so much. The trick is to buy it on the right side of the hump.

Geezzz.....I can't get that picture out of my brain now.........

Wisconsin_Chief 09-05-2020 01:34 PM

Chiefs did waive DeAndre Washington, and I don’t think Andy has ever gone into a season with only 3 active running backs. Seems odd he would do that this year with a rookie starter, Darrel Williams coming off an injury and Thompson being completely unproven.

I do really like Darrel Williams as the #2 though, if he’s healthy. I don’t think AP really fits in but possibly Lamar Miller who was released by the Patriots.

Seems really strange they’re only keeping 3 guys. They must really have a lot of faith in CEH to carry the load and stay healthy.

Devontae Freeman - played under McCullough for years
Spencer Ware- lost a step but knows the offense and is great in pass pro and in the passing game

I’ve always loved Ware but the guy just can’t stay healthy.

Freeman is interesting, I didn’t realize he was still a free agent.

Seems like there will be plenty of guys out there if they need anyone so maybe that’s why they’re not worried about only keeping 3 to start off.

Mecca 09-05-2020 02:42 PM

Freeman isn't signed because he wants to get paid, he basically doesn't understand RB's don't get paid but he's still waiting.

Yeah I was just reading some articles from August where he said he also expects to be heavily utilized.

I think that ship has sailed buddy. You better lower your expectations or you’ll find yourself out of the league pretty quickly.

BigCatDaddy 09-05-2020 04:23 PM

I imagine there is another Damian Williams sitting out there somewhere.

Bilal Powell also seems like a good fit with this group.

tyecopeland 09-06-2020 07:28 AM

Peterson to the lions.

Geez, they already had Kerryon and took Swift in the 2nd. Seems like a really crowded backfield.

Peterson didn't seem to like that one bit when he was on the Saints a couple of years ago

edit: didn't realize Swifts been banged up already.

Yeah and their 3rd stringer has a minor injury too i think. Probably a temporary landing spot unless injuries linger or they cut johnson for some reason.

kccrow 09-06-2020 08:22 AM

I'm kinda wanting Veach to poach Pittsburgh's cut Kerrith Whyte. Dude as some wheels and was productive in limited action last year and I think he'd fit well here.

ThyKingdomCome15 09-06-2020 11:24 AM

Word is he's going to DET.

Kiimo 09-06-2020 11:32 AM

Man I am not alone on wanting Swift in the draft and we totally avoided catastrophe with that one.

I have heard nothing out of camp on him. At least Taylor and Dobbins and Akers and Moss and Gibson and McFarland are all getting glowing camp reviews.

From what I understand, Swift has been dinged up.

Kiimo 09-06-2020 06:44 PM

Well it looks to me like in CEH's entire career his only injury was a hamstring pull that he played through.

No injuries, no fumbles.

LOS ANGELES — Former Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been arrested and jailed in Los Angeles on suspicion of domestic violence.

Los Angeles Airport Police said Peterson was removed from a flight departing LAX to Houston on Sunday morning after reports of a "verbal and physical altercation between a male suspect and a female victim."

Peterson was taken into custody and booked into a Los Angeles PD jail.

LAX police said the female victim was able to continue on the flight to Houston with the other passengers.

According to a statement from Los Angeles Airport Police, authorities planned to charge Peterson with "domestic violence-injury to a spouse" under the California penal code.

TMZ, which originally reported Peterson's arrest, quoted a representative for Peterson who called the incident a "private misunderstanding" between Peterson and his wife, Ashley Brown, and said it would be "resolved shortly."

Photos posted on their social media accounts showed Peterson and Brown were attending Super Bowl week events in the Los Angeles area.

Texas-born Peterson played ten seasons with the Minnesota Vikings before leaving for New Orleans in 2017. He made just four appearances in the 2021 season, in three games for Tennessee and one for Seattle.

In 2014 Peterson made headlines when he was criminally charged with felony child abuse for using a switch (a thin tree branch) to discipline his son, who was four at the time. The NFL suspended him from playing for a year without pay. Peterson eventually pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor reckless assault charge and was ordered to undergo counseling, pay a $4,000 fine and perform 80 hours of community service.
