A plain hot dog that I added ketchup to. A small order of fries, also with ketchup. A cherry slush with a small plastic stir stick that had a monkey shaped handle. I was seven years old.

I don't believe you. No seven year old chooses basic fries over tator tots. Maybe curly fries but no way for regular fries.

Mennonite 01-05-2020 08:25 AM

I never liked tater tots. Too mushy in the middle.

BryanBusby 01-05-2020 11:52 AM

I almost never go to Sonic, but kudos to them for having 2 gay guys as the face of Sonic. Makes PB feel welcomed.

Sonic - you have to be on drugs to want to eat there.

Didn't quite make the cut. Could say he's still at the Riverside.

Hell yes, I love tacos. Been hitting Taqueria Don Pancho up here in the Como. The chorizo is so good. And the barbacoa. And the descada.

It wasn't a choice.

RedRaider56 01-05-2020 08:52 PM

The last think I purchased at Sonic were two Route 44 iced teas and a large order of Mozzarella sticks. I never order a Sonic burger

saphojunkie 01-05-2020 09:07 PM

Wtf why

Because if I want a fast food burger, I hit the Whataburger that is 1/2 mile up the road from Sonic. I just like them better.

Easy 6 01-05-2020 09:40 PM

Just like every other joint out there, Sonic is only as good as the people working that day/night

Toaster burgers, breakfasts, Coneys, drinks, onion rings are all solid when made right.... but for me they’re simply too far away, not driving to the other side of town for work breakfast or lunch

Hot fudge sundae. No nuts.

cooper barrett 01-05-2020 10:21 PM

I have not eaten there in 10 years, they are not on every corner where I live. I do stop for diet strawberry limeades....

LiveSteam 01-05-2020 10:24 PM

I ate there last night. I'm able to eat when I want and where I want most days, and I got a cheeseburger (mustard, ketchup, pickles only) and small chocolate shake.

I felt dirty, but I'm not a health nut.

patteeu 01-06-2020 11:36 AM

I get their Supersonic Breakfast Burrito pretty often. I put two salsa packs on it so I always open it up. Yesterday I had one with onion rings and a coke. It was small and only had 3 rather than the typical 4 tator tots in it. I felt a little ripped off, but it tasted good.

Those are the best fast food breakfast item on the market IMO

If they were closer to me I'd have them frequently

Correct. I have 3 stores near me so I always have options regardless of which direction I'm headed. Unfortunately, the most reliably good one is the furthest away (about 5 miles).

Skyy God 01-06-2020 11:46 AM

Coming back from a road trip to Fayetteville.

Tried to swing a 3-some with 2 tiny chicks, but the third disappeared before we could corral her back to the hotel.

Mennonite 01-06-2020 11:51 AM

I tried the regular breakfast burrito this morning. It tasted ok, but it was 90% egg, 5% cheese, and 5% sausage.

It's been a few hours since I've eaten it and (so far) there's been no explosive diarrhea or tap dancing chestbursters. Fingers crossed & sphincter clenched.

Those car hops with the rollerskates are surprisingly fast aren't they?

MotherJefer 01-06-2020 12:00 PM

I try my best to avoid fast food/eating out often but Sonic is my vice, the one place that I can't stay away from. I pig out when I'm there. Typical order is the SuperSonic Bacon Double Cheeseburger, sub the fries/tots for a large Mozzarella Sticks order, and a large Powerade.

My inner fat kid just smiled and then paused and thought- "but what about an add on BLT Toaster?"

You just don't get writing like that everyday. I can't believe I missed that the first time around. :D

Most Sonic carhops don't fall into the tiny category, in my experience.

Is Sonic "melty" cheese sort of like velveta, or is it real Wisconsin cheddar?

It’s like a subway rat took a shit on your burger and rutted his ass across it before wiping it’s nose on the pickle.

Smoking a joint by the sonic dumpster is better than eating their food.

Neither.

It's cheap, fake American processed cheese product melted in a steamer.

This is all true except the bold portion. They put the slice of cheese on the burger (on a flat-top) as it finishes cooking.

I wasn't talking about the burger.

I was talking about the coneys/cheese fries/tots/frito wraps/etc., which all get put in a steamer

so technically you could say they offer steamed vegetables with the tots being steamed to melt the cheese.

Fish 01-08-2020 12:48 PM

I go there often just for Cherry Limeades. Daughter likes the grilled cheese and tots. But they offered the new Biggie Cheese burger for half price last time, so I gave it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised. The BBQ sauce, caramelized onions, and pickle on brioche were a good combo. It's an artery clogger, but it was tasty...

Strongside 01-08-2020 01:00 PM

My wife's family (her grandfather and dad) are really large Sonic franchisees.

Our freezer is always stocked with bags of Chedd-r-bites and popcorn chicken...for those nights you want to get super drunk and poop in the bed.
