We're midway through episode 6 now. Pretty good so far.

Blasted through it all. Outstanding.

Done. It's not like last season sucked or anything, but this was much better. Nearly as good as the first season. Really fun, nostalgic and enjoyable as hell.

Wife and I watched the whole thing yesterday. I liked it. At first, the first few episodes were a little trying for me. It felt like filler while they were trying to get the story fired up again. I was hoping they were just going to make it 3 seasons, but I realized by episode 8 that was not going to happen. How long can they keep this going? Hopefully they don't run it into the ground.

Loved it....great call backs. Crees story is alright...doesn't explain why he's psycho with his kids other than he lost his mind after he heard that girl died and then killed his superior officer. Still think that could've done better.

They announced the other day they have a 6 season plan.

With each episode only being around 30 minutes, 6 seasons is probably going to be perfect.

Yeah Netflix didn't pick it up for just one additional season.

Honestly, if they keep it fresh and fun I am good for it going awhile.

I'm sure you jest, but this does bring up a valid point. I was afraid going in that they'd try to shoehorn Ali into some sort of love triangle that would threaten Daniel's marriage. I'm glad they didn't go that route. They also wisely didn't involve her in the teenage dojo v. dojo terror war at all; I don't see how anybody being thrust into that mess wouldn't immediately conclude that everybody was insane and run like hell.

I think they handled bringing back Ali, Kumiko and Chozen pretty much perfectly.

Lord, I hope they don't do something stupid. But...they have 3 seasons left I guess...they could really **** this up.

One character that was missing completely was the fat chick who was Sam's friend that ended up joining the Cobras. I don't even recall them mentioning her in the new season. I guess she's the Cobra Kai version of Chuck from Happy Days. :D

They mentioned early in the first episode that she was sent to private school.

Zabbka deserves an award for pulling this show off. Hell, the entire cast is amazing, but Johnny is amazing.

They also handled Ali's backstory about her leaving with a guy and
wrecking the car better. We got the 'real' story because they basically destroyed her character at the beginning of the 2nd movie. She came off like a real bitch leaving with the college guy and wrecking the car and having Daniel drag her. I'm glad they corrected that, seemed totally out of character. I know she didn't do the 2nd movie cause she went to college instead but wrote her off in the worst way.

After 3 there was only the one with Hilary Swank. It was basically a gender flipped version of the first movie. Only Pat Morita returned.

And the reboot with Will Smith's kid...

...I never saw part 2 until I watched Cobra Kai. Tried to watch part 3 and turned it off after 20 minutes or so...what a piece of shit that was...

I haven't watched any of it but this thread makes me feel as if it would be a worthwhile investment. Based off the previews... it seems to have all the production value of a bottom tier program on CW thus my massive hesitation on starting the series.

Yeah outside of these glaring plot holes this season was much better than last seasons. I hope they dont reach too far to close out the series.

I saw something on YouTube about this. Apparently the writers just couldn't figure out a way to work her character into the show's plotline and on that basis alone didn't include her. Wasn't a result of anything the actress did. She was understandably none too happy about getting the axe.

Just re watched the first episode from season 1. Johnny was a maintenance man doing odd jobs before he opened the Dojo.

Another thing I realized while re-watching the first season (hadn’t watched it in nearly 3 years)

The Asian kid who joined Cobra Kai in season 3 is Kyler. Johnny kicked his ass outside a convenience store in the first episode. He was also Sams ‘would be’ boyfriend before Miguel.

We're about 4 episodes into season 3, the one where Daniel is in Okinawa and his old nemesis there shows up at the end of the episode.

Reading this thread, I don't recall if I ever saw KK3. And I sure as heck never knew there was a KK4. I may have to check them out if I can find them for free somewhere.

I am guess the ponytail brings in multiple alphas. The season progresses with Robbie sticking with them but with doubts. He decides after they are hurting on purpose to switch sides in the final few matches after the girl and miguel get injured.

Would be interesting to see if the black girl comes back. What was the real reason for the departure?

Watched KKIII today. Found it for free on AMC app. I'll have to check out part 4 another time. Yeah, part 3 was a bit on the ridiculous side but that's pretty much all of the KK Movies as well as Cobra Kai series. We finished that tonight. I liked the ending. 3 more season, eh? Not sure how they're gonna fill up all of those.

They'll have to develop an unbeatable antagonist like Rocky's Ivan Drago or Clubber Lang( Alexander Karelin, Mike Tyson) This young kid would beat both Daniel and Johnny that'll fill those seasons

Season 3 is good for some major nostalgia.

Well the show is based around a bunch of kids with multiple sub-story arcs...so it's not going to be great.

But yeah it's cheesy in many ways....but it's good for some nostalgia, which is the only thing Hollywood has left to hang onto and it's the only reason why people are watching this despite it's bad acting/dialogue.

I don't see this show continuing on past another season (4). Most shows get stale after about the 4th season anyway, by that time the nostalgia will have worn off and all loose ends are tied, Johnny/Daniel defeat Kreese/Cobra Kai. End of show.

You would be shocked at how many kids are watching. I know it's very popular at all levels of school out here.

It was just alright. Production and acting really scream after school special if it weren't for the swearing. I was really close to giving up on the show when they brought back Chozen. No one gives a single **** about that dude or his back story jfc.

They had to bring him back if Daniel was going to Okinawa though...how can you not? (FWIW, the 2nd Karate Kid movie needed to really be the 3rd. He was fighting to the death in Miyagi's home country Okinawa, not some Karate tourney with rules).

But like I said in a previous post...this can't go on for much longer. All former major characters have made their cameos with exception of Terry Silver and (Bad Boy) Mike Barnes, which it looks like Kreese's phone call at the end leaves that door open. Once they come back, once Daniel/Johnny defeat Cobra Kai in the tournament, the story no longer needs to go on after that. What else is there to tell?

The creators announced a 6 season arc a few weeks ago.

My guess, season 4 is build up to the tourney. New cobra kai students and silver or the student. Robbie switches sides. Last episodes are early rounds.

Season 5, starts with last three fights or championship. They lose, their dojo's are done and kids are mulling around with no dojo. Chick from kk4 shows up with kids. They form new dojo.

Season 6, all hell breaks loose and good guys win.



Wildcard, the girl from kk4 and bad guy from kk3 are exes or married.

So the black girl from cobra kai disappeared from season 3 because they didn't have a story for her. They are hoping to get her back for s4.

I mentioned earlier, I wasn't able to endure KKIII...let alone KK4. So these characters will be new to me. Still think they are going to kill this thing. They should stop after next season.
