-Yes Amy?- "Count to four." |
I went back and watched 'The Entire History of You' just for the **** of it. God damn that episode is a masterpiece. Even on a re-watch it still managed to make me sick to my stomach like it did the first time.

Caught up on season 5. As underwhelming as the the second and third episodes were the first made up for it. Wow. First one was all kinds of new levels of ****ed up

It wasn't very uplifting for the AI running those sims. After watching the episode, do you not wonder if the sims were sentient? |

Supposedly the three episodes of S5 are ordered according to an algorithm that builds off your watch history. So what's E1 to you is E3 to five different people.
Anyway, I watched Striking Vipers and Smithereens. Both were good but I have a feeling people are going to be butthurt with the former. |

The Miley Cyrus one is dumb af.

black mirror has evolved because there are so many shows these days focused on a dystopian tech society. We'll probably see more positivity. More focus on the storytelling than the twist. Which may work because Charlie Brooker is a pretty terrific storyteller.
|
Good God this season is trash. All 3 episodes were pure garbage...worst three by far.

Striking Vipers is.. well it's like an intentional gender inverted rehash of San Junipero. Kind of. |
If you watch Striking Vipers with the idea in your head that it is Falcon...its really amusing.
|
Horrible season
|
Got 20 minutes into the first ep and wanted to go to sleep when it went woke...
|
I feel like Striking Vipers should have been one of the "ok" episodes of a much longer season with many much better episodes. I've only seen small clips of the Miley Cyrus one and I already feel like it's a stupid rehash of the Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana back story that Miley wants to tell everyone over and over again. Is the other episode any good?

It had kind of a nice slow burn going on at first but it never really picked up into anything above average. |
I'm not falling for it again.
I'm intrigued by high concept shit like this, but I'll be damned if every season isn't 1 good episode and a bunch of snore inducing sleep aids. |

When you have to preface with shit like "don't start with this episode or this one...Or this one...Or this one....Or this one..." in a series with limited content....That's not a good thing folks.

I've been dying for this show to return. |

That said, I thought the writer said he wouldnt do anymore as he had become insanely scared of the bad roads technology was taking? |

New season dropped today.
About to savor an episode a day over the next few. |

I've watched the first 4 out of 5.
No terrible ones yet, but I don't know if there's a great one either. Beyond the Sea was probably the best. |
Started watching the first episode and lost interest half way through.
|
The wife has been watching this and she told me I should check it out - she said like Twilight Zone but really ****ed up! I have some time off in a few weeks so will finish up Jack Ryan and check this out next. :thumb:
|
I've been a fan of this show and Love, Death and Robots. The first episode was pretty uneven and the inclusion of Selma Hayek was surprising. One thing that I will agree with is that AI will replace actors in the very near future.
Netflix has gone from $8 to $16 per month. Just not worth it now. |

That's a Netflix problem. |

It’s a little cheekier than the typical black mirror episode. Not one of the top 5 episodes but pretty compelling |

Just watched my very first episode of this last night after seeing y'all compare it to twilight zone/outer limits etc.
Man ****ing pig.....yeah. Wasn't expecting that. Not exactly what i had in mind. |

Because that was definitely man ****ing pig. |

I tell everyone to NOT start with that episode. Smooth sailing the rest of the way. |

Can’t even begin to tell you how many people I’ve heard stopped watching black mirror because of the pig episode. Netflix needs to resort their season 1 so this doesn’t pop up first.

On another note, season six was ****ing terrible. Made us wait that long for a steaming pile of mediocrity. There really is not jack shit in good TV anymore outside of Severance and House of Dragons with Netflix pretty much phoning in the past BM season. |
Previous season was much better
|
Season 7 just dropped.
Haven’t had a chance to watch any of the episodes, but this immediately looks better than the last couple seasons. And a sequel to the USS Callister? Love it. |
Hey, nice looking out. Gracias, Twisted!

I think it’s up there with some of the best older school Black Mirror episodes. Paul Giammoti is just so damned good at whatever he does. |
That first episode of season 7 with the ‘Rivermind’ was spot on. I was facepalming the entire hour. A sad commentary on addiction while satirizing big tech culture of upcharging customers.

Decided I'm gonna give this go. Someone mentioned it in the DC Forum and on curiosity I checked out the first episode plot synopsis. IN.

Ep1 of season 1 is one of the lesser quality episodes. It really takes off after that. |

Go watch White Christmas. If you don’t like that, stop. If you’re intrigued after that, come back and we can give you a better path. Do not watch it in order and think that’s the right path. |

In your case, I can safely say you should watch USS Callister and then White Christmas in that precise order before messing with any of the other episodes. |

Did someone say Twilight Zone? I'll have to check this out, I've been asking around for years if there is anything like TZ/Outer Limits. :)

ironically, one of my all-time favorite episodes is San Junipero (ironic, in that it's one of the more "happier" episodes, if you will).

Brooker should be ashamed on how they wasted Giamatti's services plagiarizing an entire ass movie.

I thought the show fell off the last 2-3 seasons but this one picked right back up. Glad you've enjoyed it. It's truly special when it hits its speed. |
This season is much better than the last one. The one with Capaldi was really creepy in a way that us programmer types can understand. We all know that one person who relates to computer games better than people. Now that I'm done with this and Resident Alien, time for Netflix to go away.
Yeah, the USS Calister episodes were really spot on as well. Season 1 Episode 1 almost turned me off on the show and I just skipped the interactive one completely because my TV didn't support it. It was weird and I really enjoy weird and/or bad SciFi... Like MoonFall, etc. |
