I can't wait to see KHunt on game day - eventually.

The difference between a RB who can run a 4.6 vs one who runs sub 4.4 would be 3-4 yards on a run instead of 8-12. Plus there's a very minimal threat of that guy getting into the secondary and breaking a long run for a TD as he would never be the fastest/best athlete on the field. |

Gotta remember this guy dropped 24 pounds from college until today. Add some back in a pro strength training program and this guy has HUGE upside.

Who do you think would hold the records if you switched Barry Sanders with Smith? Do you think Charles would have been better than Priest with those same lines? And never did I say that slower RBs can't be great. It's just the chances of that happening are much slimmer/reduced when comparing the two. |

The Chiefs OL is pretty good. Look at this guy's tape. He's not going to be busting 70 yarders but I guarantee you he isn't going to be plodding along like Donnell Bennett or Bam Morris. You seriously don't trust this FO with the RB position after they found Ware and West? If you want a RB with a great 40 time and little else in the way of RB skills there's always Knile Davis and his 3.2 YPC you can drool over. |

Le'Veon Bell ran a 4.60. I'd sure ****ing hate to have him.

Spencer Ware better step it up a notch. This kid has the skill to stay on the field on third down and be a threat.
Great pick. |

Let's hope our trainer will keep the kids weight in check Mayock said his weight fluctuated a lot in college.

**** the Knile Davis' of the world, this kid has vision and quickness/agility in spades... IMO he's a much better version of Ware, so we can finally get rid of Charcandrick West (I never understood the affinity for him) |

I remember this kid torching a really good Mizzou D years ago

Saw a handful of his games. He's a legitimately good player and a good draft pick.

He turned out OK for us. |
You know what's funny about that Senior Bowl clip? It shows Hunt juking out our 2nd round pick Assagone for a TD. Also those highlights from the Ball St. game LMAO

He may not have top speed but he appears to have pretty good quickness and can change directions very well.
Priest Holmes is almost underrated around here sometimes. Of course he didn't have Charles top speed but Holmes' shiftiness and acceleration was amazing. Really hard to contain within 10 yards. That's a tremendous weapon to control the clock and keep the chains moving. |

OH I DO like KHunt, I think!
|
so many variables, he's playing Ball State and Western Illinois etc, etc... How would he do against Bama or Clemson? IDK - WTF knows, really...? He seems to have superb vision and balance, I do like this pick. I'm not entirely sold on the QB pick though. You look at his Gruden QB tape and then Tyler Bray's there's not a huge difference in praise from Chucky. Nothing is definite, either way you look at it. Overall I'm fairly pleased - (knowing what i know) w/ this draft and the players we selected.
|
also he's closer to a 4.7 than 4.6.

Someone should have embedded his Kareem Hunt: Draft Day 2017 (24.09 mins) video by now. The kid is special...

Sorry , not impressed. Watching his highlight two words come to mind,
Slow Midget |
So it looks like I may keep Ware in my fantasy league after all.

[QUOTE=Simply Red;12848010] He seems to have superb vision and balance, I do like this pick. /QUOTE]
I agree, thats what jumps out at me after watching the videos. I question his top end speed, but really cant say I seen anybody catch him from behind, once he was going full stride? I just hope he turns out to be durable. He looked impressive in the senior bowl vid. The coaches and management have watched more than I, so if they like him, I give the pick a big thumbs up!:clap::clap: |
Wow, I wasn't sold on Hunt when I saw his 40 time, but I was after I saw the vids. You can see by the way he runs that speed isn't what it's all about. The way he's able to make small subtle moves, and yet it totally screws up the defenders pursuit to him is amazing.
I've been trying to think of an NFL comparison, but the only name that comes to mind is Marcus Allen. Mostly because of his vision and his toughness. |

I like the staple of Ware, Spiller and Hunt. None of them are burners but maybe that's ok. I was really hoping for an RB will some speed but these guys run hard at least.
|
Quote:
If we can coach him to catch and block, that is a HUGE weapon, regardless of top end speed. The ability to plant and redirect is much more valuable overall than top-end for a RB, especially with our other speed and receiving options on the field. If there's ever been one thing I coveted in a ball carrier, it's what Faulk is putting down around the 2:50-3:25 mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMlrSy-xQUQ |

The thing that catches my eyes is the incredible balance.
That is what made Marshawn Lynch so effective. |
Quote:
and they wanted him specifically to give up 2 picks inc our 4th, bit of a steep price for a 3rd round jump |
Quote:
we jumped 20 spots. that is not cheap in any rnd. We had picks to spare... we are going to pick some depth today and hopefully pick up a few vet free agents before tc. |
Quote:
I dont like this pic only b/c of the cost of moving up to get him. Hunt seems like a solid 3rd roud RB, but not good enough to justify a 4th too. Just my opinion. Not gonna 2nd guess Dorsey though. |
Didn't realize we gave up our 2 4ths for this slow midget.
That hurts ! Gotta trust dorsey on this. I'd think we would have been better off giving our 3rd and both 4's to get Mixon. |

I liked the guy from Tennessee in round two more, but at least we got a RB. If nothing else we will have depth at the position
|
Found this:
According to Pro Football Focus, Hunt was “one of the most elusive running backs in this draft class.” He forced 98 missed tackles last season, which was second-most in the nation |
I like this pick a lot. He's not flashy, but he's extremely efffective after contact. He's got great balance and footwork.
|
Quote:
Maybe a fine complementary back but I'd rather have someone who's truly different from ware. He just seems like a little bit bigger West who still isn't a threat to break one. I'd rather have Pumphrey late, especially with the cost of the trade up. Don't love giving up a 3 and 4 for a guy that doesn't seem to have an outstanding trait but who's best attribute appears to be just not being bad at anything. |

The MAC isn't exactly renowned for their fire breathing defenses. |
Like all of these picks, the jury is out until camp/season....
I still remember a year ago thinking we had zero need for another scrub running back named Tyreek Hill.... yeah.... |

i'm really diggin this guy the more i watch and read, cant wait to see him in camp

Lots of good short running backs out there. Emmitt Smith, Maurice Jones-Drew, etc. Short can be an advantage at the position (Barry Sanders) Kareem Hunt should see alot of playing time right away, unless Spiller redeems himself |

Kareem Hunt will be a fun one to watch in Reid's offense over the next several years. Trust me. |

I think this pick has a lot to do with Knile Davis. He's basically the polar opposite of him.
Davis didn't have a lick of elusiveness, balance, vision or ball security and Hunt literally excels at all of those things. I'm okay with it even if he's a few steps slower than Davis. |

Dorsey has been the best drafter of the last 3-4 years and it's very exciting to see him make moves to identify specific players and to move up to get his favorite players to draft.
1) he thinks Pat Mahomes is a rare talent that doesn't come around often. 2) he compares tagggopassgwaratea to Justin Tuck 3) he says Hunt is the best RB outside the group of 3-4 elite backs...pretty good fit. |
Quote:
And he gave up a 3rd and 4th for him. I'm supposed to be happy about that? Well at least he'll make the team so there's some progress. And for third rounders, 'steady contributor' is a fair expectation. I suspect Hunt will manage that. I just don't see the upside here that some do. |
