Woah. Probably just rumor but I seriously can't think of a better pair of talent when you think of Pioli & Shanahan.

Well he'd better hurry because if I were the Rat then that TB job would be a nice place to work.
|
I like the idea of Shanahan as the Head Coach, I just didn't want him, if he was going to be calling the shots on player personnel.
|
With Pioli on board, that ain't happening.

**** yea...if this happens our D will be the most dominate D known to man!

The Kansas City Cheats!
Hey Shanny could bring his cooking spray and dangerous blocking schemes, teach us a thing or two about cheating on the salary cap that he learned in Denver, and with Pioli who came from the team that illegally spied on opponents, we really could have the Patriots Way right here in Kansas City. How exciting. Outlaws, just like in the old west! Call us the Kansas City Cheats!

Shananananananahan hasn't had a fresh idea since almost as long as Carl, and drafts about the same (check)...(with the exception of Cutler)...he gets humiliated in playoff games (check), his FA signings suck (check), and his defenses suck ass (check)....
hell, maybe he is a fit for us.... |

I'm so conflicted. The Rat in Red and Gold.... Arghhhh, I just can't wrap my noodle around it. I've spent over half my adult life hating that SOB, but he's a good coach and knows how to win. Pioli and him have potential that's for sure. I need a drink or 12

NO! I dont want the RAT!

I'd take him in a heartbeat. Him and Pioli could build something here.
|
Shanny would be incredible but we have no real reason to think they have talked or if Shanny would even take the job nor do we have a reason to think Super Scott wants him.
Herm is still the coach. |
Ok Shanahan even though its a rumor, if you do become the chiefs coach, please oh please dont ask Jake Plummitt to unretire and by our QB.

how do we determine who lucks out and who doesn't? he hasn't replace either because he's been GM and he's a better coach than personnel guy. exactly he needs help with personnel decisions like Pioli would provide here. |
Anyway, if this is true (none of know, really), what do you think about the quarterback situation? I love the idea of Shanny developing a rookie. Which one, I haven't a clue.
|
anyways, back on topic
shanahan is a good coach, but imo he is burnt out...he has been flailing for years but his rep kept people from calling him out... plus, he may say he doesn't want power...but after a year or two he'll be right back in the owners ear...people that age don't change... but hey, there are certainly worse options.. |
With the power of the Pats and Donkeys combined, the Chiefs are going to be the cheatingest team this league has ever seen!!!

Actually though, there's one upside for that hiring. He'll have a chip on his shoulder about both Oakland and Denver. Those are 4 games a year he'll do his best to win. |

I HAVE HATED THIS RAT MOFO FOR OVER HALF MY LIFE AND I WON'T CHANGE |
I think we need to consolidate every thread that ever mentioned the Shanarat to this one so we can be better informed.

I still don't like this, but the idea of a million shitsucking douchebag Bronco fans squealing in unison if it happens is enough to not make me hate it entirely.
|
shanny might have been a good coach but that dude went insane a while ago. maybe this is a wake up call and he'll go back to actually trying to win instead of jerking off on the sidelines

without reading the whole thread... Does this rumor have any legs at all?
|
Anyone...and I mean ANYONE is better than Herm....but with that said....how can our new GM boss Tony Soprano hire a rat to run his football team???
(I instantly apologize for that lame attempt at comedy.....but it was sitting there...right in the open...ripe for the taking) |

There is talent on the offensive side of the ball it's just too bad it's being wasted by our current lame duck coach. I actually think KC is a great situation for Shanahan. It would be great for Tyler Thigpen a young QB who needs a coach who knows how to handle young QB's. And imo what better guy to have then Shanahan? There are RB's on this roster in Charles and Smith whom imo can be excellent cutback runners which would suit a Shanahan style of offense that emphasizes a lot on misdirection plays. There are good receivers on this team in Gonzalez in Bowe. Shanny knows how 2 make average offensive lineman into pretty good ones. And the Chiefs have 2 good Offensive in Albert and Waters. If he was hired as the new HC here the offense would improve dramatically. My only knock on him is defense. He hasn't really had good defenses. But, I think with Pioli, and a good DC around him that may just mask his weakness. |

That's not the way the league always works. I don't feel the Broncos or the Patriots championships have been tainted. Those were damn good teams. |

Shanahan is a good coach, especially on offense. Put him under a good GM like Pioli and it should be a dynamic combination.

i still think he needs a year off to recharge and reflect, his personnel decisions have been just brutal for awhile in relation to his perceived talent as a coach... i'd still prefer to roll the dice on our own coach...but if Pioli thinks he can bromance with the rat, well, ok, i guess... |

THIS I've hated Shanahan for ever...i really don't want to start liking him either. |

A proven winner and Pioli would make me one very happy fan.
