Wait so they have a $37 mil number this year with over $170 in dead cap... carrying an $81 mil cap number for next year, and they're looking at bringing on Dak's salary? Is it possible the person "reporting" this has the Browns taint coursing through his veins?
Because i don't think even the Browns are this stupid. Dak brings numbers of like a $53 mil '25 number. To escape the $81 number next season they would need to do some type of restructure which pushes more money out further, which puts them in a worse bind. The more that I think about it, the more I think they should do it. It'd kind of be like that Sam Kinison bit where he was making fun of the Reverend Jim Bakker: "Jim Bakker. He's lost everything, he's ruined. And the worst thing of all he still has to wake up to her!" |

The Browns are that guy in your fantasy team who everybody cringes when they see a trade go through because they know somebody is robbing them blind before even reading the details of the transaction.

Don't the Browns have the #2 pick? They could draft a QB for the umpteenth time. No point trading assets to get Dak.

Trading for Dak prior to June 1 would create a $150 mil dead cap hit to Dallas in '25. After June 1 it would still carry $50 mil in '25 and then $100 mil in dead cap for '26. I mean if Jerry is serious about getting out of the contract and willing to do that to his team for 2 seasons. You could kind of get away with it for a year with the post June 1 trade, but next year would be a throw away year, completely.

The main reason to not believe this trade will happen is that it would demonstrate competence by Jerry Jones.

Pretty sure this rumor has already been shot down.
